  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yet everyone dies, not only the wicked. And the wicked are raised again for the Great white throne. Only to die yet again? Sillyness. It is much better to believe that we are conscious when we die and that our souls go to either heaven or hell, and when the resurrection happens it's just our bodies meeting up with our souls. Then when the wicked are judged they don't simply die again (as your belief states) but their bodies and souls are eternally destroyed in hell at this point (but are still aware to feel the burn).
I wanted more people to see this post.

Let's see, some people say at death, the wicked go to hell. There they are tormented in fire. Then the resurrection comes. Then they are judged. Apparently they were tortured without a trial before the resurrection and judgment. Anyway, now they are resurrected and judged. They are found guilty so now it's back to hell for more torture. And this fanciful farce makes complete sense to these people.

well in your view people die and go to sheol before being tried legally. That's not fair. Then after they are judged they simply go back to sheol. Talk about calling the kettle black. So there is really no need for a resurrection or a Judgment in your view because they are judged already when they go to the grave. And why be resurrected if they are simply going to go right back into the grave anyway?

The only problem is that you have ignored the fact that those who have had access to knowledge and perverted it or denied it, will pay the penalty of death twice, the second time of total extinction.

Those without knowledge will simply die and not be resurrected to be able to see what they missed.

Rev 20:6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

so you admit there is no purpose for the resurrection (of the wicked) in your view?
No, it's just a really funny post.

"We are conscious when we die"
"their bodies and souls are eternally destroyed in hell at this point (but are still aware to feel the burn)."

You are quite a comedian.

According to the ET view, Hitler is rewarded for saying a prayer, while millions of Jews are tortured for all eternity..

It is a sickness that must be confronted and reformed.
You are acting like there is eternal torment for billions for not believing in Jesus, when Jesus said that there is only one sin that can never be forgiven:
Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
Matthew 12:32
You can even speak out against Jesus and yet be forgiven. Only those who curse God, even as they believe in God, will suffer eternal torment. Eternal torment is reserved for people who hate God.

I thought you were the one who didn't care about being in the majority. According to 99% of Christians death is not the end of consciousness. The 1% on your side are JW's (if that is really Christian) and Seventh Day Adventists and Truth Warrior.

You can't count Paul and God on your side, and Paul never spoke of a death of the spirit, which is what is required to assume that any of the authors of the Bible are actually on your side.

I don't care about being in the majority. Me Plus God equals a majority :p

Paul wrote that the wages of sin is death, God said to Adam if you eat the fruit "dying you will die", and I believe both of them.

You are on the serpent's side. Most scholars say that the serpent represents Satan. Oops! Too bad!

What do you mean by annihilated?
You have equated death as annihilation haven't?
If the wages of sin is death then death is a reward or punishment if I understand your logic and annihilation is that punishment for those who die in sin. I was curious if Adam was annihilated because that is the logic I was seeing in what verses you were stringing together.
