However, the bible clearly states that the wages of sin is death, not eternal torment in hell. 2 Thess 1:9, states that "these pay the penalty of eternal destruction" not eternal torment.

We could even take the ferry across Lake Michigan to make it more realistic. Everyone knows you have to pay the ferryman to get into Hell. On the way out we could ride like bats out of Hell.
