Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

Let's see: if Evolutional potential for a place was used up, you would gamble with mutation?

    Hi there,

So the hypothetical here is: the potential for Evolution being used up - as in all resources for Evolution being taken up - you would gamble with mutation, to motivate a change in locale?

The luck you got from the gamble (with mutation) would be your best bet?

Like you don't even know how much you would have to gamble, you would in that case just gamble more?

You're gonna say "Evolution doesn't guarantee anything", right? But Creation does.

Creation would suggest going with the most likely Creation friendly locale, next.

Granted running away from a predator is taking a chance, but at least with Creation you are looking out for your best interests, before you meet one.

The point here is, actually you are committing far more to a given environment, than you need to - assuming 'Evolution' is attractive to individuals that need a specific environment?

It's a strawman: Evolution saves you from the "selection pressure" monster!

The only strawman here are you own deluded understandings about what you think the theory of evolution says.

Evolution, adaptation, natural selection will never stop as long as there is a life form for them to act upon and as long as those life forms life in an environment that experiences change.

Seriously: please make an attempt and TRY AND READ about the science of evolution.

"Natural Selection will never stop" is a belief, that you have just assumed to be true - the exact same way I believe in God.

The difference is, I can test God, against whether believing in Him gives me "rest"; your belief just gives you hope, but for no real reason.

It's not as if I want you to go without foundation, either - I would very happily change the Words of Jesus, to something else, if it were provable that a certain kind of Evolution was more greatly able to bring God praise (something you should understand proves that Evolution is actually effectual, in certain contexts).

As it stands, you are not interested in the Words of Jesus, on the assumption that they are different from "Evolution" - when in fact Jesus never said 'they were'.

This assumption and blind faith, are confusing, to say the least.

You really need to stop conflating Christianity and evolution as the same thing, they are not the same thing at all.
Christianity is a religion, a faith, while evolution is a fact of science, a description of biological life.

Saying that natural selection will never stop is a fact because it is truth.

You can test for evolution, you cannot test of God because by His own nature, God cannot be tested, as is said in Matthew 4:7 "Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” (as based from Deuteronomy 6:16).

Gottservant, you need to step back, take your medicine and make an attempt to actually learn, REALLY LEARN, about the thing that you are rallying against, because all I see is you tilting at windmills.

All I am asking is for you to make trust in 'Evolution' something I can reappropriate - and you are not doing it.

Just take me step by step, how you came to believe in 'Evolution'?

I don't accept we were from monkeys, I don't accept that mutation drives change and I don't accept that we are not agents of faith, in everything we do, if we do it at all.

Give or take what you say next, I'm afraid I can't compromise on anything that is common sense?

I actually won't because you have done nothing to make be believe that you are asking that question from a position of good faith. The fact that you constantly call acceptance of evolution "belief in Evolution" (with the unnecessary capitalization to make evolution out to be something more than it is) does make me question what your motives are.

If you wanted to understand, then you would do the intellectually honest thing and actually seek out the information by yourself.

Yep. I would take all my mutations to a casino, put them on 25 and see if I win or lose. Hopefully I win, so I can go home with more mutations and increase my evolution potential.

    Stop this.

People have told you enough what evolution is and is not.

I understand that you have a great deal of difficulty with your own thoughts, but when you spread falsehoods you are simply lying.

Science is discovery. Do you have a problem with a hypothetical framework for the nature or reality?

    Not at all.

Just pointing out that the philosophy of science is at odds with the empirical side of science.

The empirical side says, "Let's strive to create a theory of everything," and the other side says, "If you explain everything, you'll explain nothing."

Neither religion nor science. Religion is based on belief, science is based on evidence.

The answer to the poll depends heavily on whether each given environment contains a decent pizza place. (Although a good ramen shop can serve as a replacement in some circumstances.)
