I am not a shoe woman nor a purse woman. In fact, today I have on a nice pair of slacks, a frilly shirt, and my tennis shoes.:p

That's it. You're within driving distance for me to do a fashion intervention. :nono:

I would have never spent that kind of $$ on a purse myself, so it's even cooler that I have one at all. lol

Well I used to say the same thing..and my husband got me a new purse for Christmas..I didnt really like it for me..it was really pretty..but nah..well that purse was $60 ...when I was looking around on the net day after Christmas at Kohls..I just for the heck of it checked like Dillards and Neimans etc..I was JOKING and I said let me look at some EXPENSIVE purses..well lo and behold..there was "my purse"..It was $325.....Mind you I havent even paid MONEY at all for a purse in about 5 years..the one I was using (that broke hence my husbands Christmas gift) was a gift form my mother..and before that I had a purse that was maybe a $40 purse that I carried for several years..you get the point..

ANYWAY...so I had the $60..and my MIL had given me $100 cash..I also had about $60 additoinal in MC gift cards I had gotten for Christmas..So I had right off the bat $220 in gifts from Christmas to start with..and my BIRTHDAY is Jan 9th.. and its not unusaul if its something I want that my husband would spend that much on me(the differece is about $125)..HE is the one that was saying..You shoudl get it..you NEVER have had expensive purses..I was like..I just cant JUSTIFY havign a purse that expensive...

GUESS what?...BEFORE my birthday one day he came home and had that purse in its "Dooney and Bourke" canvas bag and gave it to me..:)..THEN to my surpise and delight..he on my birthday???Gave me the matcing wallet..and change purse..(also expensive)

I was joking and I said...I need to carry my purse ..around with me ..in a combination safe..My purse and my wallet and my change purse combined...cost more than if you add up all together every purse and wallet I've ever bought in my life..

And the thing is this purse is CLASSY not "flashy"..I feel like a million BUCKS walking around with it..actually I feel like $460 + tax but still...:p

As a dude:
I love eating meat.
I love wearing boots.
I make lots of bodily noises...the louder the better.
I mostly wear tee shirts and jeans/shorts.
Martial arts are my thing.

As a Southerner:
I love grits.
Fried chicken is amazing.
Wish I had a big truck.

As a non-conformist dude:
I like to talk about my feelings...sometimes.
I am sensitive.
I like working around the house.
I try to anticipate what my wife wants and DO IT!
Non-martial arts related sports I don't care about with the exception of maybe tennis. And hockey somewhat.

As a non-conformist Southerner:
Cheap beer is not amazing.
No, liver is not all that.
Country music does not exist in my universe.

WWChrist, LOL! I liked your list. :) I hate cheap beer. Or, at least, the Busch kind, etc. My beer of choice is Mack and Jack. Yum, yum! Occasionally I try Black Butte Porter, but it tends to fill me up before I finish it. lol. What MA do you do?

Faith, I love shoes! I have a puppy right now and so far he has, successfully, eaten through two pairs of my shoes, one of which were new, and my favorites. I *almost* beat him to death. lol. jk. But, you and dallas are not alone in the shoe lovers group.

Ok, I do like those musicians. I think it's a lot of the new country I don't like at all...sounds the same to me.

I do like fried okra! Had some this past week and lots of it. Thank you Woody's BBQ!

Life is too short to drink cheap beer!

The one I don't like is Natural "Natty" Lite. It tastes like watered down horse...urine.
^_^

I've done several MAs over the years and currently do Cuong Nhu. It's basically karate with a bunch of other stuff mixed in.

It does sound pretty "complicated" as to your requirments for a purse.

Mine is a "sachel" style..Its got a handle and an adjustable strap..then the bulk of the room is one large area inside..(no outside compartments) then a pretty large zipper pouch inside on one side and on the other side a cell phone pocket..thats enough for me ...I can easlily grab my cell phone..and in the side pocket I keep my reading glasses..lipstick....car keys....also I will put any list I have in there for shopping..AND inside as well I have a change purse..that I keep some cash..and a wallet of course that has my debit and credit cards..checkbook..an ink pen.blank paper.and business cards..

Dallas

"complicated"...very good word. I did go out of my "complicated" box with my current purse. It has one zipper compartment, 2 non zipper compartments, and has what I call handles instead of strap... and I had to buy a flat wallet to hold my cards... and it is green (I am a black purse kind of girl). My boss/friend is huge into purses and the first time she saw it... she gave her giant stamp of approval:)

Lilymay, I am a "black purse kind of girl" too. I just can't bring myself to buy other colors! It's always black shoes, black purse, and I'm trying to buy the red shoes, trying trying trying, and trying to buy the green purse (NOT to wear with the red shoes, okay), and then I get to the check out and I have .. a black purse and black shoes. LOL.

I have looked at Dooney & Burke and Coach purses, but the one thing that bugs me is that the name of the company is so HUGE on the purse and I think why should I pay $300 to advertise for them? I could get those purses about 20% off at the BX, but I always balk at the checkout and go back and get a Brighton purse or a Fossil purse, which is about a third of the price. One extravagance I do have, when we go to England, is that I buy a Radley handbag. They're pretty cute, and it's very unlikely I will see someone with a matching one here. :)

Well let's see. I hate football, which isn't too weird coming from a female, but I am from Nebraska, and where I come from, everyone, male or female, doesn't just like football, they pretty much worship it. So from the get go I was definitely weird in my family for not liking football at all.

Other ways I don't fit as a woman:
I flunked sewing class
I don't wear any jewelry(except for my wedding ring)
My hair is never permed or dyed (That could change when the gray takes over)
I don't use a curling iron or a blow dryer
Knowing how to take care of a baby had to be learned, I didn't take to it naturally
I can only really do one thing at a time, I am not a multi-tasker
I enjoy sex with my husband, even if he has upset me.
I am very analytical
I pretty much wear only one pair of shoes,(my burkees)

Ways I fit:
I love to kiss puppies, babies, kittens, etc. (I am a serial smoocher, according to my husband)
I like flowers
I have learned to cook in the last few years, and I enjoy it
I look like a woman, (no one has ever mistaken me for a man)

Stereotypes I don't fit:

-I'm a woman (and a mom, at that) and I don't generally like babies unless it's my own
-I'm a feminist and addicted to make-up, also I'm a stay-at-home mom
-I hate pink. I love dresses. I will wear dresses with sneakers. I'm a girly tomboy.

....(snipped for space)....

On part one, me being from a Southern family, I was "weird" the same way because I never was fond of Elvis. Gasp! How DARE I not like Elvis? I don't dislike him either, really. I just don't care one way or the other. His music played, and I'd be the only one in my family going "ho-hum, big whoop-de-do" instead of getting all excited like he's the best singer in the entire history of music.

On part two, being dark-haired, I have :o visible hair on my upper lip. I have to be careful to keep it removed. It embarrasses me quite a bit. But, I have been reassured that even if I were to let it grow out completely, where it would be highly obvious, I would still never pass for a man.

Did you know German chocolate cake isn't German at all? The person who invented it here in the US used German's brand chocolate. That's how it got the "German" name. True story. I heard that on Food Network anyways!
