Jesus comes to disclose the Word of Truth in this end of the age.
It will not conform to the “word of men” that is currently being preached in all “churches”.
We are to hear and not be angry. Do not let the “sun” go down upon your wrath. This is talking about the “bright and morning star” that shall begin to arise in our hearts when we hear His voice. This arising morning star is the witness of God within our own hearts of His Son whom we are to hear as He teaches us.
Eph 4:26-27 KJV
(26) Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
(27) Neither give place to the devil.
The wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God.
If we become angry, we are to overcome and do well towards what we hear.
Do not give place to the devil as sin lies at the “door” of our mouth when we are wrathful. We are then tempted to speak evil (sin) of those who are sent by Him to speak words of life and spirit. Sin desires to have us….but we are to rule over it.
Gen 4:6-7 KJV
(6) And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
(7) If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
The Lord comes to reveal the Word of Truth to our ears. He begets us with the Word of Truth….and we are to be swift to hear and slow to speak, slow to wrath.
Jas 1:18-22 KJV
(18) Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
(19) Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

(21) Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

The light arises within our hearts….the Son of man must be lifted up by doing well towards what we hear so that it continues to arise and not go down. Do not let the sun go down in our wrath. The sun...that is, the Son...must be lifted up.

(34) The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?
We are to walk in the light by well doing lest the darkness come upon us….the going down of that arising sun within our hearts. We are to become children of the light.
(35) Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
The Son (the sun within our hearts) will "depart and hide" Himself from us if we do not receive Him in belief by doing well towards the Light of His knowledge. The sun goes down and it becomes dark again within our hearts.
(36) While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
(37) But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
(38) That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
(39) Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
If we are truly hearing Him as He teaches us the Word of Truth, we are to put off the behavior of the “old man”….the envy, strife, contentions, wrath, etc. We once behaved this way in our ignorance of the Word of Truth but now that it comes to our hearing, we must put those things away and do well towards it.

(21) If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
(22) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Instead, we are to be renewed in the spirit of the mind in order to receive His words of life and spirit.
(23) And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
(24) And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
The “new wine” must be put into “new bottles” (by us renewing our minds) so that we are preserved….to have an age-lasting life.
Luk 5:37-39 KJV
(37) And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.
(38) But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.
Some will continue to think that the “old wine”…the word of men…is better and behave badly. The new wine burst the "old bottles".
(39) No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.
We are to gird up the loins of our mind. We are to be prepared to receive the revelation of Jesus Christ who reveals the Word of Truth to our minds and not be behaving like we did when we did not know it....according to the former lusts done in our ignorance of the Word of Truth.
1Pe 1:13-16 KJV
(13) Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
(14) As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
(15) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
(16) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
