Self-Corective Discipline
Prov 6:20-35
My son, keep your father’s mitzvah, and forsake not your mother’s teaching. Bind them on your heart continually—tie them around your neck. When you walk, they will guide you. When you lie down, they will watch over you, and when you wake up, they will speak to you. (V 20-22)
For the mitzvah is a lamp, Torah a light, and corrective discipline the way of life, keeping you from the immoral woman, from a wayward wife’s smooth tongue. Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyelids. For on account of a prostitute one is reduced to a loaf of bread; a man’s wife preys on your precious life. Can a man scoop fire into his lap without burning his clothes? Or can a man walk upon hot coals without scorching his feet? So is he who goes to another man’s wife. No one who touches her will go unpunished. (V 23-29)
Men do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet if he is caught, he must repay sevenfold, giving up all the wealth of his house. He who commits adultery with a woman lacks sense. Whoever does so destroys himself. He will find disease and disgrace. His shame will never be wiped away. For jealousy enrages a man and he will show no mercy in the day of revenge. He will not accept any compensation, he will not consent, even if your bribe is great. (V 30-35)

Solomon's parents, David and Bathsheba knew all about adultery. They did not view it as something romantic as the movies portray but they viewed it as a grave sin against God, each other, and, Uriah.
Both David and Bathsheba taught Solomon these mitzvah's. Oh that parents today would be as open to their children and teach them how to live pure lives. Of course we know that Solomon did not stay totally true to all that he knew was right. He chose to learn the hard way, just like a lot of people. Solomon did regret many of his choices and they brought him much sorrow.
He tells his son's to listen to the instructions of his parents and don't walk away from their sound and good teachings from God. Don't despise them. Don't allow your friends to teach you or persuade you to live differently from what God says. The world can be cruel, but standing firm is well worth it.

Why should you stand firm? God's instructions on how to live a full and prosperous life are a lamp, a light for our feet (Ps 119:105). If we pay attention we will know what to do in those difficult situations. We will have to make some decisions that are not fun, they will not make us popular with our friends, we will definetely not be popular with the worlds ways and values. Some of our church friends won't even understand.
Standing firm, is the corrective discipline of OURSELF. By making corrective discipline of our self as a way of life, we will be kept from the immoral person. That does not mean we will never encounter them but that we will know what the right thing to do is (James 4:17)
Violating God's moral principles will only destroy you. God self-corrective discipline will protect you when the immoral man's words are telling you how special you are and/or her words are enticing you with her looks.
The act of adultery is compared to the same as heaping fire into our laps amd setting our clothes on fire and also walking on those hot coals and severely burning our feet.
Once you consider it, and even think about sexually being with a person you are not married to, in your heart you have already commititted an immoral act. (Matt 5:27-28)
In this specific scripture portion it specifically mentions adultery, but actually, any sexual contact, whether only in your heart or actual physical contact with someone you are not legally married to is immoral. Any preacher/teacher or whoever who tells you different, run as quickly as possible from them and find someone who teaches the Word of God correctly.
God has NOT changed ( Heb 13:8; Mal 3:6; Jams 1:17; Num 23:19; Is 40:8; Ps 102:25-27; 2 Tim 2:13; Is 40:28; Ps 119:89; Ps 119:90;1 Tim 1:17). His "Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth" are the same as they were when He had them written down. Therfore, if HE hated something then He still hate's it today.
And, if you're teaching that God has changed things you are in grave danger. IF you are truely putting your faith and trust in Yeshua and his sacrifice on the cross for you, your only hope is that the worst of your punishment administered by God will only be that you are considered "the least" in the kingdom of God. (Matt 5:17-20) It's a very serious thing to mislead the sheep.

Just because our flesh is screaming for satisfaction does not make us unaccountable for keeping God's instructions. When we truly repent, which INCUDES stopping the sin, we are forgiven of that sin. However, we are not free from any repercussions. He who commits adultry lacks sense and he destroys himself. Such activity will bring disease (physically and/or spirtually) and disgrace. The memory, will last as long as you live and even continue into the future. We know of David and Bathsheba's sin because it was written down.
Note: if there are sexual things that are being done to you and you have no control of the situation, it's not your fault. Get help when you can.
