Maybe I'm just attending very conservative congregations! Personally, I agree with women not assisting with communion or reading the gospel. Not an issue for me. But some of the others were. And yes, those were the ones that were man-made.
I assumed the not being a congregation chair was LCMS policy. I've yet to belong to one where there was a female chair.
And the bottom of my list was dependant upon the congregation and their constitution. I do know these things vary.
At our current church it is the men who do the communion prep and clean up. (I was on the Altar guild at our last church.)
At my previous church I was not allowed to serve as the chair of the Board of Ed, even though the committee wanted me to.
And they didn't want me to be the VBS director because Pastor was one of my teachers. (Pastor fought them on that one and we won!)
I'm just going with what I was taught and what my experiences have been. These have been congregations in Missouri, Virginia, Texas, North Dakota, and now with the ELCE.
