It's the grill thing. I can cook in the house...but forget the grill. Hubby takes care of that and does a fantastic job.

Unless you like hockey pucks, I do the grilling at our home.

There is also great variance within the LCMS. The congregation I was brought up in only extended sufferage to woman about 3 or 4 years ago, even though the LCMS has allowed it for years. It wasn't in the congregational constitution, and the constitution was only recently amended.

On the other hand, the LCMS congregation I'm in now has women serving communion and reading scripture, though not the Gospel, which is read by the pastors.

My own opinion about the role of women corresponds to the WELS, but I'm much less sure about their stance on fellowship.
