God will never ignore your prayers. He just loves you to go to Him! Ask God to remove your procrastination and laziness to read the Bible and pray.

Force yourself to read the Bible and force yourself to pray. It might seem a bit difficult in the beginning but once you make a habit out of it, it will flow more easily. Thats how we all got started in reading the Word and praying.

Fix a time to seek God. Not just a rushed prayer. Atleast keep a full hour to seek the Lord in prayer and reading His Word. Force yourself to do it in the beginning and don't give in to worldly distractions. Then you can gradually increase your time with the Lord.

Listening to anointed messages will also increase your desire to seek the Lord and pray.

Well, God says love to Him is to obey His commands. Are you living a life of moral purity, set apart from the world? Gods word says that if we are living in sin then He won't hear our prayers.

Psa_66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

God saved you, and that is the important thing. You always have a reason to be thankful because Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins. Because of that, you have been given eternal life as a free gift. Aren't you grateful for that? If God never answered a single prayer, you would still have reason to praise Him every single day of your life.

I went through a pretty long period in my life where I always had something else to do rather than read the Bible or pray more than a few words at a time. The thing was, I didn't really know why I should do those things. As I got older, and life got a lot more difficult and complicated, I realized that the lessons of the Bible were really important for my past (to understand it), my present (to endure it and make the most of it), and my future (to have confident hope and trust).

And you know what? Although I used to be too lazy to simply read the Bible, once I started actually studying it, I actually wanted to do it! The Bible gives us wisdom that really helps in our every day lives.

I understand - I thought the same for a long time. Instead of just reading, here's some ideas -
1) do topic studies such as BibleGateway.com - Bible words from Nave's Topical Bible and Torrey's New Topical Textbook.
2) watch "One Night with the King" and compare it to the book of Esther or watch "The Passion of Christ" and compare it to the gospels - realizing that theatrical liberalities were taken,
3) study Jewish customs and perspectives because you realize more layers of truth in many Scriptures.

4) Our spirits believe The Word (John 6:63). So no matter how we're feeling, we can saturate our spirits with more of G_d's Word. I use Audio Bibles at Biblegateway.com such as Psa 145.

A born again person, must be bothered, if he does not spend time with God, or read his Word, because the Holy Spirit, living in his heart, would give him the desire, and make him willing to spend time with God, and read his Word.

But, do not worry, because we who are born again, by the Holy Spirit, from time to time, give in to the flesh, not because we want to, but because or our weaknesses, and watch tv, or do something else, instead of spending time with God, or reading the Bible. I have done that, many times, and although I regret it, I try with the help of the Holy Spirit, to spend time with God and read his Word.

So, do not worry, if you miss it sometimes! As much as you continue to try to be regular in your time with God, and read his Word, that will be fine. If you fall, do not stay down, but get up, and continue. We all fall down sometimes, but what is important, is that we do not stay down, but we get up and continue.

When you are in a tunnel, do not stay in the tunnel, but continue travelling towards the end of the tunnel, because there is where the light is.

I get what you mean. try the ESV audio bible. just keep playing it and just "try" to pay attention as much as you can, even if you are doing something else. play it while going to sleep, or whenever. works for me.
