Well, I know that if I saw one of those things, I wouldn't say "It's the (insert clever name here)!" I'd just yell "RUN!!!!!" or "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! KILL IT KILL IT KILL IT!!!!!!!!!!!"

What if you just come up with some type of a fancy fantasy name for them . . . like the Silvadrins? *completely made up on the spot by the way.*

Or, maybe you could come up with something like "vampiric virus beings" and then look the words up in greek, latin, etc. and mesh it together to form a scientific name.

Just throwing out ideas.

Nah, it has to be something that our characters would think of on their own. It's human nature to name things, so they'd HAVE a name, but I doubt any character desperate to survive would go flipping through the dictionary for a name.

Depends. I mean when you've gotten yourself food and are safe and are the ONLY person alive for hundreds of miles you could get pretty bored. Or if one of the survivors were writer's or scientists, who already have the desire to understand them, then I can definitely see them trying to find a good name. I get your point though, most of your characters probably won't be writers or researchers (mine would, but I can't join ) maybe some thing describing their appearance?
Deadwalkers? Shadowcrawlers?

Ummmm... the characters might have called them vampires at first, since that's the closest comparison they had, but we can think of a three-year name as well.

Umm... could we wait until sometime late next week? I still have no idea for a character, and I'm pretty under the weather. I don't know how well I'd be writing, but by the later date, my other RPG will have come out of its hiatus and I'll have been forced to get back in the writing game. So I'd be ready.

Bios are the worst part of the whole RPG process. Or heck, maybe I could just come in late. You're the GM!
