  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How many kids do you have? If you don't have kids yet, but want them in the future - you can vote for the number you would like to have. :) If you don't have/don't want kids, that's cool, too.

This is just meant to be for fun and to get an idea of who our parents are in the group. If you want to share gender/ages, that would be awesome! :)

Poll coming...

p.s. Stepkids count, IMO. As a former stepmom, I always told people I had 3 boys. :)

Step kids don't count for me. Sorry. :(

I have two beautiful daughters. Ages (almost) 25 and (just turned) 20

My husband has two grown daughters from his first marriage.

I wanted six, but I don't think God wanted me to have any boys. I think three of my miscarriages were my boys. My body just couldn't handle them.

Stepkids don't count?

I have 2 stepsons, and 1 biological son. All three live with us. I consider my stepsons to be my kids. They call me mom, I call them son.

I wanted 4 or 5 kids, but there were 2 I did not have, gender unknown, and when I met my h and we had our son, he didn't want to have any more. I was 37 by then, so probably just as well.

Stepkids don't count for everyone - depending on the circumstances and the nature of the relationship. I can understand and respect that. But, I also don't want to minimize the impact that a stepchild/stepparent relationship can have in a positive way, either - which is why I added the disclaimer.

We don't have any yet - only been married a year and a half, and still making sense of the house we moved into last September - there are still boxes to be unpacked..!

Whether we have any depends on finances and health, really, but we've both talked about it as a possibility. I guess a couple would be a sensible number. Wouldn't really want more than that. to be honest.

If it turned out we couldn't have any, I think we'd look seriously at either adopting or fostering.

I have considered adoption. Specifically, I would like to adopt a child with special needs, if God leads us down the adoption path. It's something that has been on my heart for years.

My cousin and her husband just adopted two beautiful little girls (sisters) from an Ethiopian orphanage. Her youngest is a month older than my youngest. Too bad we live so far apart or they could be playmates. :)

Awww, the teen years offer new and wonderful ways to communicate with and relate to your children. I admit there are also more intense challenges, but I'm really enjoying seeing my daughter morph into a pleasant young lady and the more I appreciate her, the more I know I'll miss her when she goes off to uni. :sigh:

I think it's the attitude that I'm most worried about. lol My 9 year old can get a "tone" with me already and I'm praying it doesn't get worse as he gets older.

I really work to foster a sense of family and teamwork into my kids, though - so hopefully they won't give me too much grief about stuff as they get older. Who knows, though, I was a rather difficult teenager and I'm worried about paybacks. :p
