Galen looked up surprised. “Apollo? What are you doing here?” She smiled. “No, nothing is wrong. Why?”

With the flowers still behind his back, he replied "I was coming to talk to you, but I suppose you got to me first. You looked frustrated as you were coming this way." He shifted his stance a little, then said as he handed her the flowers, "This...is a little...awkward to me, but, here." He stood there in apprehension of what would follow.

Galen stared at Apollo for a moment before what he was doing finally sunk in. She took the flowers in her hands and smelled them. “Thank you.” She stopped. “He does like me!” As this thought dawned upon her, she leaned over and shyly gave Apollo a peck on the cheek.

A look of utter surprise came across Apollo's face. "She likes me!" he thought...then he realized he didn't know what to do next.

“What did you want to talk about?” Galen asked Apollo. She took his hand and started pulling him towards the garden; all her troubles forgotten.

Apollo came back to his senses at her soft touch. "I was going to tell you..that...I like you, more than just a friend would, too. You're very beautiful, and intriguing." He followed her to the garden where he asked, "So...uh...yeah. That's about it."

((*Dies of laughing* This is hilarious, sorry, but I always start cracking whenever romance is involved into one of my rpgs, weird, I admit. Anyhow, I can't really post until Amras does, so I'm just going to sit here and enjoy the writing, keep it up guys (and girls), nice posts!))

“Really?” Galen’s eyes lit up. “Thank you. I never had anyone tell me that before.” She pulled Apollo over to a bench and sat down. “You’re the only person I’ve ever liked.” She ran her hand along the side of his face.

Apollo gazed into her eyes, but thoughts of future and past pain came back...he looked away. "I'm sorry..I need to go. It has nothing to do with you, just my...past..." Apollo stood up, hesitated for a moment, then went back to the training grounds.

((Maybe it was kind of sudden but that’s better than sitting around bored.))

Galen sat staring into Apollo’s eyes but he suddenly turned and stood up. She sat there stunned. Apollo had just… walked away? She stared at the roses he had given her. Maybe he heard something? Or she had done something wrong? It had to be her fault; even if he said differently. She picked up a rose and suddenly a sharp pain pulsed through her finger. Galen gritted her teeth as the rose dropped. She looked at her finger; there was a small cut on it. She sucked on her finger as blood began to appear. Normally she wouldn’t pay so much attention to something like that but it helped take her mind off Apollo.

Apollo's mind was a tempest. "Why did I convice myself...it'll end in tears...I had no idea what I was doing...she probably hates me...maybe I should go apologize..." But what had bothered him first came back and struck him..."No...I can't..." and he went on with firing at the target with more and more rage.

After Galen had stormed off, Lamar had turned and went inside. He knew confronting her again would be hopeless. Maybe he could get some knives from the recruiters’ office and practice. He shuffled his feet while he walked around in the castle; feeling foolish and hurt by Galen’s unwillingness to talk to him. He had always been there for her but now she was old enough to take care of herself, wasn’t she? He couldn’t help but feel responsible; he had always been the breadwinner and protector for them. But this was something he could do nothing about.

Galen sat with the roses in her arms. They smelled so sweet; like the little garden her mother used to keep. The memories she had brought tears to her eyes. It had been a small garden but it was her mother’s garden. When Galen was little she would go to the garden and play hide-and-seek with Lamar. Lamar! She had told him off pretty roughly before. “Maybe I should go apologize?...” Lamar would understand, wouldn’t he?

Lamar walked out of the recruiters’ office with his new throwing knives. He pondered going back outside to talk to Galen but decided against it. She would talk to him when she was ready; if she would ever be ready. He turned down the halls and up the stairs to go to his room. Lamar stopped at the top of the stairs and looked out a window towards the training grounds. There was Apollo; firing at a target. Galen was upset about him wasn’t she? What had Apollo said to her? Lamar had to find out; he was her protector and her brother.

Lamar walked up behind Apollo. “What did you tell my sister?” He demanded. He was obviously perturbed and on the verge of yelling.

Apollo had fallen hypnotized to the drone of arrows flying. When he was startled from his daze by the sound of a enemy, he turned around and released an arrow. It went right beside Lamar's neck. At this sight, Apollo lowered his bow. "What did you tell my sister?" was what was yelled at him, and it took a little for him to realize who Lamar was talking about. He said "What do you mean? I didn't say anything!" Apollo was confused. Emotions spiraled within him once again. He soon became angry too, but he had learned to contain this with all the evil in his life.

Lamar looked at Apollo quizically. "What do you mean you didn't tell her anything? She wouldn't tell me off unless something or someone had bothered her! So what did you tell her?!?" He practically shouted at Apollo.

Apollo felt his rage swelling again...but he surpressed it. "I didn't say anything! What makes you think I could make your sister mad at you? She was happy the last time I saw her..." Apollo's voice trailed off...he went back to firing arrows.

“The last time you saw her? Which was when?” Lamar countered. He was getting annoyed at Apollo because Apollo seemed like he was telling the truth. But to Lamar that couldn’t be true. Why would Galen tell him off otherwise?
