With the improving economy and the number of reenactors, quite good these days.
A gallon of milk bought with CSA currency as it was trading in 1865 would cost $5,000.00 Confederate dollars.
Canada and Australia don't have "presidents," they have "prime ministers," - they are not chosen by the party and not elected by the voters. All of you who are disappointed by the statist takeover of the US of A, don't leave the country!!!! I know many of you want to go to Canada, or to Australia, where the president is a man of God. But why pay all that air fare travel, when you can sign a petition to create your OWN red-state nation!
Americans in 15 states issue White House petitions asking permission to secede
I wonder if Mexico still wants to get Texas back
Houston we have a problem.

Yes sirI wonder if Mexico still wants to get Texas back
Houston we have a problem.
Hawaii and Alaska both had their own language, culture, customs, etc, and they were much more different from "America" as today's Puerto Rico's culture, etc is. California was as Hispanic as Puerto Rico is, just happens to be "American" now because it became a state a long time ago.

Many have noted that the narratives of how those areas were aquired and their significance is different in the eyes of Hispanics than it is with other groups....

Indeed, as that's probably the best way of seeing it...OK every time I read this thread title I think NFL play 360
And I suppose they would want the United States to keep its government hands off their continued Medicare, huh?
If Florida were to secede, would the Social Security system become solvent for centuries?
No one leaves without consequences, just as parents tired of parents or whoever owns the house they live in talking about living on their own and not needing anyone....and after threatening to leave and walking away, they call home asking for gas money.Medicare/medicaid/food stamps/social security/education. The list goes on and on. Then, there's all the federal money they receive for their levies, their roads, etc. No more Army Corps of Engineers for you. No free trade between us and you. Nothing but heavy tariffs for the traitors. Really, I think we should blow up the levies, rail lines, and roads on our way out, but there's no need to be petty. They'll lose all those things just by virtue of being unable to maintain them. Next big hurricane that wipes out New Orleans or Houston - sorry about your luck. When Mexico decides to invade - why would we defend you? You wanted to be free of us. How are you liking it?

Louisiana is one of the biggest welfare states in the country.
We appear to be a nation of cities vs. suburbs/rural. It's a shame we don't see how we depend on each other.
All of which they pay for in federal taxation. Washington D. C. does not have a magic money tree - despite all the well-wishing of the left
?Why do the left always threaten violence when their worldview is threatened?

To nationalize the oil fields currently in production, they would be breaking the contracts that the international corporations hold - in effect, Louisiana would have to steal the oil from its current owners. If they tried to sell this confiscated crude on the open international market, they would be sued.Yeah---but they're a welfare state with petroleum.
Louisiana has the greatest concentration of crude oil refineries, natural gas processing plants and petrochemical production facilities in the Western Hemisphere; it's America's third largest producer of petroleum and the third leading state in petroleum refining; it's America's second largest producer of natural gas, supplying slightly more than one-quarter of the total U.S. production; and it produces 25 percent of the nation's petrochemicals.
So, let Louisiana secede. They nationalize their petroleum industry, throw out all the US Federal restrictions on petroleum production and refining, start pumping oil, and they sell it to the highest bidder.
How would the ordinary Louisianians benefit? By redistributing the profits from nationalized resources? My guess is they wouldn't be a welfare state for long. My guess is they'd probably be on a par with, say, Kuwait, or the United Arab Emirates.
