Let me axe you a pacific question. Do you have other such standards in pace fo those you wish to see as presdent? Lapel pins and respect for the flag appear to be in the same ballpark as mispronunciation of one word. I just checkin on you.
LOL this thread is funny. Someone slightly mispronounced a word which is really pointless..people from different parts of the country pronounce things slightly differently.
People in my area pronounce an area called "North Versailles"..North Vesrales
People in France called it "Ver Sigh"
However, the Democratic vice presidential candidate doesn't even know who was President during the market crash and doesn't even know when TV was invented..tells crippled people to walk..and yet he is smarter?
People in the US that I know pronounce it Ver Sigh I would be unable to stop laughing if I heard someone pronounce Vesrales, We have a town close to called Vallejo which I sometimes hear pronounced Valley-Joe not the correct pronunciations of Vuh-Lay-Ho or Vuh-Yay-Ho and I cannot believe that there are some people that are really that dense.LOL this thread is funny. As indicated in wikipedia, both pronounciations are correct

Really? And how am I pronouncing them? Please demonstrate that
Here: ˈnyü-, ÷-kyə-lər
What I know is that muscular and nuclear can rhyme according to the pronunciation symbology in Webster's.
I see your problem You're attributing to me something I never said. Nucular rhymes with muscular, not cue lar. Not that I've cleared that up for you, the rest of your post confirms my points (your dubious allegations of plagiarism aside). Thank YouVery well, in post 129, you claimed nuclear was legitimately pronounced nuculur. I asked in post 134, where it said that and provided a link to the Merriam Webster online dictionary. You plagiarized this in post 136 saying...
Now, you did not know how to read pronunciation, being completely unaware of the symbology in question, thinking that the "kyə" was pronounced "cue".
Now in post 219 you say that "muscular" is similar to "nuclear" providing "məs-kyə-lər" (without citation again, which is plagiarism).
It would only logically follow that you still think "kyə" is pronounced "cue". Have you admitted your error, or are you pretending you never made a mistake, while boldly stating that mistake over and over because you did not know what a schwa was?
Which you have demonstrated an inability to use correctly in repeated attempts.

If he can pronounce Nuclear properly it would seem that way.
Do you have difficulty pronouncing 7 letter words?
How do you pronounce Nuclear?]
People in the US that I know pronounce it Ver Sigh I would be unable to stop laughing if I heard someone pronounce Vesrales, We have a town close to called Vallejo which I sometimes hear pronounced Valley-Joe not the correct pronunciations of Vuh-Lay-Ho or Vuh-Yay-Ho and I cannot believe that there are some people that are really that dense.
Sorry, he has committed bigger gaffes than mispronouncing words so he must be dumber.
No one in the race has looked anywhere near as moronic as Failin Palin did with her nonsensical quotes with Katie Couric.

I see your other problem now. The "nucular" spelling was introduced by someone else here:This is not true at all. Why you're intentionally saying something that is untrue, I do not know. You said in post 219...
"Or we can look up similar sounding words such as muscular"
You then referenced ˈməs-kyə-lər.
Since you claimed in post 129 that "nyü-, ÷-kyə-lər" was pronounced nuculur, it would only logically follow that you are pronouncing both incorrectly.
It is difficult to run from your own words, but the historical record is skewering your arguments.
to describe Palin's pronunciation of nuclear. I responded to point out that Palin's pronunciation is actually confirmed by Webster's. It wasn't me that made the claim that her pronunciation would be spelled nucular, but I notice that you didn't confront the person who did. Meantime, I understood his spelling to reflect the nu kya lar pronunciation. Feel free to correct him if you feel so ledSarah Palin is a complete idiot, say it with me now, Nucular.

For those who are not as well informed on some matters of vocabulary, the "nucular" pronunciation is perfectly acceptable. Please visit Websters for the definition of nuclear and the acceptable pronunciations are listed along with audio versions
By the way, when you cite a post like that without proper credit, that's plagiarism per your earlier postsSo when a poster said that "nuculur" was an incorrect pronunciation, and you said (post 129)...
Think of it this way nucular = ˈnyükyələr. Maybe that will help..you were not claiming that "nuculur" was an acceptable pronunciation?
When asked about this specifically, you referenced M-W and...
"Here: ˈnyü-, ÷-kyə-lər"
...in post 136.
You said "nuculur" was in M-W and referenced "ˈnyü-, ÷-kyə-lər" as evidence.
Unfortunately "ˈnyü-, ÷-kyə-lər" does not translate as "nuculur" as you claimed.
My claim was that somebody else introduced the nucular spelling. You still haven't confronted that person I notice. Everything I stand by since you have repeatedly, although unwittingly, confirmed and verified what I have saidNow you are claiming never to have said any of it? It is still in the posts. How can you claim to never have said what is still there?
By the way, when you cite a post like that without proper credit, that's plagiarism per your earlier posts
Think of it this way nucular = ˈnyükyələr. Maybe that will help

Just as when I say it's from Webster's I'm citing Webster'sBy using the post number I am citing it.
The trouble of course being that we don't have a pronuciation symbolism for "nucular", but it was offered as ˈnyü-, ÷-kyə-lərOnly if you cannot read pronunciations. Nucular does not equal nyükyələr. You still do not know what a schwa is. You have to learn how to read pronunciation symbology before commenting on it.
I responded to it, not embraced itYou embraced it, it does not matter who introduced it.
If I make a mistake this year, I'll own up to it, but so far, so goodAre you trying to blame someone else for your mistakes now?
