In your professional opinion, this is dementia? Or perhaps, the Fox reporters just ask stupid questions which makes us all roll our eyes. I will go with the latter, and you go on taking the dementia angle.
I am not a professional and could not make a diagnosis on President Biden; but I watched by mother-in-law degrade over a span of 15 years and these were the first symptoms that made me realize it was coming on. It was not long after I noticed these symptoms when I realized her ability to make good decisions was compromised.
But the topic of this thread is not my mother-in-law; but President Biden's treatment of Fox reporters.
Here is the exchange with Peter Doucey.
Mr. Doocy called out a question: “Do you think inflation is a political liability in the midterms?”
“It’s a great asset,” the president said in a sarcastic tone, seemingly to himself. “More inflation. What a stupid son of a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]”

Here is the exchange with Jacqui Heinrich.
"Why are you waiting on Putin to make the first move, sir?" Heinrich asked.
Biden chuckled, softly replying, "What a stupid question."

For me inflation and the Russia-Ukraine conflict are some of the top news items today and asking President Biden for his plans for handling these two issues is not stupid; but maybe you have a different take on this.

It is a stupid question to ask the President. I think Biden has reached his limit of trying to be nice. Funny, the more brutal Trump was the more the right loved him, yet here we are describing Biden as one showing signs of dementia based on your mother-in-law. Friendly warning, remove the parts of your post in violation with the rules.

Well again we see how and where this will go. I was thinking.. almost every president has some kind of hot mic on that part is clear. So if its someone you like as in DEM or REP then its a different story and in this case its "what? every one does it nothing to see here". So you just smile and .. ok.

Some of us have been around for 40+ years and watched Joe Biden coming. He is not at all what he use to be.. and DUH hes old. This his job effects ALL of us. I also agree with "Sadly, telling the truth gets you reported".

Side note and I HAVE TO...song playing "SEND FORTH laborers"..yes in Jesus name.

So now we're blaming dementia for this man who has always acted this way. That's really interesting considering that before now when someone has suggested that Biden seems to be showing the signs of dementia, that person would be attacked for daring to say it. Now, however, it may be on its way to being the excuse of choice among his followers!

Thanks for the warning. It seems odd that you can link to an article that contains the text; but you cannot cut and paste the text into your post.

From my POV, the press corp attitude to President Biden changed around the time of the Afghanistan pull out. After that the questions started getting meatier. I tried to find some news coverage showing the opinion that you expressed. It seems that CNN and MSNBC took President Biden's sarcastic attitude to mean that the question was rhetorical and of course inflation hurts midterm elections. So if seen in that light, the question is posed so as to frame his answer in a bad light. He either admits that inflation will hurt the Democrats chances or he wades into an explanation on how inflation will be brought under control. They have described this as a hot mic moment which would imply that Biden did not know the mic was on; but that seems spurious because he had been using that mic before that to answer questions. He also appears to give a sarcastic answer to the question followed by an expletive. So it would appear that he wanted Peter Doocy to hear the expletive. In general, this does not change my opinion of President Biden for the worse. The job of President is strenuous and this time in particular is a tough one. So I give him a pass if his temper snapped.

Because Donald was more than a mere president -- he was a role model to those who desperately wanted one...

Quite the savage wit, our 26th president had... but as old as Biden is, it seems unlikely that you expected anyone to make the comparison to him... so in that context, your comment really makes no sense.

Just like post #50 made no sense either.

How am I doing?

He's no better than Trump. He also has sexual assault allegations against him and has a long history of racism. But he doesn't tweet...so I guess that means something.

Two things:

1. When Trump did it - he was mean and abusive - when Biden does it - it is a gaff....

2. It is part of a pattern "When Biden has made similar gaffes in the past"

He has done it before, he is doing it now -

What's up with the republicans talking about Trump in a Biden thread.

It took only ONE post on this thread about Biden for people to start talking about Trump. Here is post #2 in its entirety--

Apparently, the similarity between the two men's personalities and behavior is too striking to pass by without commenting.

Not when you have the left-wing media trying to spin inflation as a GOOD thing.

Exactly. Why can't we have a discussion about how bad Biden is doing without Democrats bringing up Trump and their own versions of whataboutism?

This event undoubtedly got so much press by the very fact that it was so uncharacteristic of our current president.

Unusual events always get more press. On the other hand, a president who engaged in that behavior on a daily basis would eventually find the behavior ignored, even when it was objectively far worse (or perhaps because presidents who engage in regular verbal abuse have other far worse things to be mined by the media...)

He is the role model and standard -- until such time as he ceases to be useful, and then he's tossed under the bus...

... which happens to be part of the role model and standard.
