  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

By calling the opposition, who simply did not agree with her on staying in the European Union , Racists and Fascists ,she brought into the discussion a very negative energy
She probably called the racist people who think white Brittish folk are better than dirty foreigners racist. But I'm not sure why; maybe that was unfair of her?
And judging by what I've seen the exitors posting online, I don't think her energy was overly negative. Besides, I thought sticks and stones and all that?

Wasn't this guy mentally ill though, as in treatment, medication, etc.?
I believe he was seeking out treatment before the day of the shooting. What his diagnoses may be (and if he has them), I can't say for certain if I know.
That said, being aware of your mental health problems and HAVING mental health problems are two sides of the same coin.

Curiously convenient timing for leftist political agendas given the Brexit vote coming up in a few days.

...Hm...curiously convenient indeed...
After all the undemocratic bueaucrats have a lot to lose if the UK leaves .Those and the other undemoctaic forces ,which rule the minds of the easily led . Those of us who know history, know that the dirty tricks department of the Big Businesses who are behind governments ,would never stoop to such a horrible act ,as the murder of a women politician ,of any politician .
No such things are just in the minds of conspiracy theorists , politicians are never murdered ,to manipulate the public vote .

Oh yes. To be clear I didn't think you were saying anything about violating her.

I understand that no one is perfect (I'm sure your replying poster does too) but, it could be argued that she had a lot of compassion, care and concern for a very vulnerable group of people. And she had that in an effort to protect them from individuals with power who were trying to affect them negatively.

It hasn't taken long for conspiracy theories has it? People going "what incredible timing, must be a conspiracy!". The fact that Thomas Mair is a long time resident of Batley, with relatives in the area, who clearly perpetrated the crime seems to be irrelevant:doh:. Are they argueing he was a sleeper agent?

What about LLee Harvey Oswald and others like him ? This is a broad conversation ,and
'conspiracy' was not in my head ,but I conceded it could be a possibility,as people, with
non dictatorial minds allow for broad discussion ; this a habit more where I live .That is all possibilities are allowed then people can decide for themselves in the end .
Not like atheists who say 'God does not Exist' ,instead of saying I don't know enough .
I am not like that as I want the truth . Now this man may have commited the crime ,or he may have not - but to assume he is guilty before he is tried, is a disgrace .

We should know better .Do I think it is conspiracy ? Probably not, but it cannot be ruled out entirely at the moment .

Up until he declared in court "Death to traitors, freedom for Britain" I did wonder whether the claim that he shouted "'Britain first" was baseless, supposedly one of the witnesses had retracted his claim. But with materials found at his house it seems probable that he is a loner with neo-nazi views almost certainly suffering from mental illness.

My assumption that he committed the offence is that he was caught red handed, in front of multiple witnesses. The debate is about his motivation.

My conspiracy theory on Oswald is that he did it.
I do look at all sides of a debate.

Thankyou . Then he probably is the killer .
The finer details of the case are not so interesting to me ,as we are living in times where killing is an everyday thing ,but what is behind it all ,and where it is leading are .
You missed the point about Oswald . He was not the only killer ,and the question as to who was behind his assassination has been identified as far as I am concerned .

If you do really do look at the greater picture ,eventually you will be a christian ,but some are not capable off . :)

*She abstained from the vote on airstrikes in Syria because it was only targeting ISIS without targeting Assad as well.

"She was fearless, utterly fearless. Last year, we went to see the Russian ambassador in London, to give him a rollicking about the terrible way his country has behaved in Syria.

He’s a professional diplomat and a pretty tough case. But Jo got the better of him: it was her mixture of charm and steel.

The best word I can think of for her is [word omitted in case against forum rules - meaning courageous]. The ambassador just didn’t know what to make of her, and she left him looking quite discomforted."

My fearless friend Jo Cox, a five-foot bundle of Yorkshire grit

"Next — Syria. Her expertise meant she believed Assad must be stopped, and amidst wider Labour reluctance she pushed humanitarian intervention. When I asked her if she would follow her instincts on Syria even if Jeremy Corbyn became leader, her text read: “yes, instincts.” Our interview about it was broadcast and I remember colleagues were mesmerised. “Who is that?” You don’t often get MPs that [same word as above omitted], principled but winsome too."

Allegra Stratton: 'On Jo Cox's boat we drank wine and talked pink toys, family life and the refugee crisis'

Her principled stances and not buckling under pressure (when we have other leaders who make red lines but never act on them) make her loss even more profound.

In some countries in europe she would have been asked to stand down, as calling people nazis, when you are an MP is not allowed . And I have worked in the Uk with immigrants and on one occasion on the bus to an anti -racist demo I wakened up ,as the men ,the Moslem men, were so sexist and threatening ,I was disgusted by myself for being so naive ,.And then ,when we got to London , whole areas taken over by migrants from Moslem countries . There was no room for the locals, and I remember seeing an old lady with a little home made poster begging to be saved from the surrounding immigrants who wanted rid of her . Since then I have recognised the hatred for the local people that is a feature of left politics , while they, the comfortable whites live as far away as possible ,as they do in Sweden .

They are implying that the MP was murdered to support a particular side of the referendum. The nasty implication was made explicitly by 777sloan read the post.

Yes, to answer your question. Not the first time an implication of that sort against a poster has been concocted out of nowhere.
