I mean, good for Matthew Henry then. But it doesn't change the fact that the historic teaching of the Church makes a clear distinction between Michael, one of the archangels who serve God, and Jesus Christ the Eternal Son of God.

The Angel of Yahweh is not a created being, but he is still an angel. And created beings.
Created through the Son who is greater than the angels.
The Angel of Yahweh’s name is Yahweh - you even said yourself that the angel who spoke to Moses was named Yahweh. That’s what he told Moses from the bush - Exodus 3:6The angel of the Lord never surrenders His name nor is He identified in the Old Testament.
Yet Michael the archangel is identified in Daniel 10:13, Daniel 10:21, and Daniel 12:1.
Micheal is the archangel who looks after the nation of Israel
(Daniel 12:1).
The angel of the Lord cannot surrender His name until He becomes the Christ.
Genesis 32:29-30 Then Jacob asked him and said, “Please tell me your name.” But he said, “Why is it that you ask my name?” And he blessed him there. So Jacob named the place Peniel, for he said, “I have seen God face to face, yet my life has been preserved."
That's how you tell them apart.
Acts 7:37-38...”This is the Moses who told the Israelites ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your own people’. He (The prophet God will raise up in reference to Christ) was in the wilderness WITH the angel who spoke to him (Moses) on mount Sinai and with our ancestors, and he (Moses) received living words to pass on to us....The name of the messenger who spoke to Moses was YHWH.
The Angel of Yahweh says he is Yahweh, and also distinguishes himself from Yahweh at times. It was the Word that was appearing and speaking to the Prophets - it was not the Father.I believe some confusion comes from when people happen across the Hebrew word "malak" or the Greek word "angelos", each meaning "messenger or ambassador". God sometimes came to deliver His message in person, which made HIM a messenger at the time. One example would be His appearance to Moses in the burning bush While that sight was first described as the ANGEL of the Lord, it becomes obvious it was God Himself, as He told Moses to remove his shoes, as he was standing upon holy ground. No angel would claim to have hallowed the ground. And God went on to say, " I AM the God..." No angel would dare say he is God !
Yes, here, God acted as His own messenger, most likely to make sure Moses knew His will & His commands, & that no one was deceiving him. God was His own "malak" here. BUT HE WAS STILL GOD ! He did not become an angel being, nor did He make an angelic being into God. He simply gave His message in person.
Is the ‘Word’ Yahweh? The Angel of Yahweh says he is Yahweh, and also distinguishes himself from Yahweh at times. It was the Word that was appearing and speaking to the Prophets - it was not the Father.
Yes. But there is distinction between the Word & Yahweh at times, such as Genesis 18, where we see 2 Yahweh’sIs the ‘Word’ Yahweh?
And Yahweh said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of Yahweh, to do justice and judgment; that Yahweh may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
The Angel of Yahweh is not a created being, but he is still an angel.
The Angel of Yahweh is God himself.Yes, and Jesus is God the Son, the 2nd person of the Trinity; God himself.
Again, Hebrews 1 says that the Son is greater than the angels - and he created them.
That was no messenger that was talking to Moses from the burning bush and Moses knew it.Acts 7:37-38...”This is the Moses who told the Israelites ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your own people’. He (The prophet God will raise up in reference to Christ) was in the wilderness WITH the angel who spoke to him (Moses) on mount Sinai and with our ancestors, and he (Moses) received living words to pass on to us....
Angel means messenger in the Hebrew. The exact identity of a divine messenger can alter according to the event. Obviously in Exodus 3:6, we have YHWH as the messenger because the messenger is speaking in the first person.Acts 7:37-38...”This is the Moses who told the Israelites ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your own people’. He (The prophet God will raise up in reference to Christ) was in the wilderness WITH the angel who spoke to him (Moses) on mount Sinai and with our ancestors, and he (Moses) received living words to pass on to us....
The name in the Hebrew is YHWH not Yahweh or Jehovah, or any other translation. There is no direct English translation of the name YHWH. Avoid putting vowels into the Hebrew name to make it sound better in English. Is the ‘Word’ Yahweh?
Messenger and not angel. Jesus was sent to us. Jesus was a messenger in the true sense of the word. The Angel of Yahweh is not a created being, but he is still an angel.
If Jesus was Michel then why is Scripture misleading us?
Why not say that the Lord Jesus argued with the devil over the body of Moses? The second person of the Trinity, God the Son, the eternal Word became flesh and was given the name Jesus - it was an angel who told Mary and Joseph that. All through his ministry and the NT he is called Jesus. Why would someone suddenly refer to an angel called Michael and expect people to understand that, really, he is referring to Jesus? In the Bible, when people had more than one name, we are usually told - e.g "Daniel, who was also called Belteshazzar), Daniel 4:19. Why not here?
When Jesus was with us He was human; before He was not human and since He is not human. The apostle John did not know what form He took; the evidence is in favour of Him being Michael but what difference does it make?
Acts 7:30, it was an angel who appeared to Moses in the burning bush, But the one who spoke is the Lord...so there was the Lord and the Angel in the burning bushThat was no messenger that was talking to Moses from the burning bush and Moses knew it.
Exodus 3:6
He said also, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.
