OK---repeating my previous post to emphasize what the bible says in Rev 3:18---Apparently this is not being taken to heart. It states that God will spew out Laodicia if they do not repent. He goes on to say that whomsoever He loves he chasens for the purpose of repentance--He LOVES THE LAODICIANS AND WANTS THEM TO REPENT---again--HE DOES NOT SAY TO LEAVE THE LAODICIAN CHURCH, BUT TO REPENT--
Is this not clear enough???
Yes your point is well taken. Have you also considered that at the end the Church of Philadelphia is mentioned as the church that is kept through the time of trouble. Who is this church and how does it relate to the Adventist Church? What is its relation to the destiny of the Laodicean Church? The parable of the wise and foolish virigins is a parable depicting the two classes of believers that will exists before the coming of Christ. Please just consider what is the position of the Laodicean Church during the time of trouble. Does E.G. White talk about the Laodicean Church during the time of trouble or does she speak about a remnant of this church? Who is this Church of Philadelphia that goes through if the Adventist are Laodicea? The great temptation is the Sunday law so the Church of Philadelphia is promised to go through the time of trouble. Where is Laodicea at that time? Something happened and what counsel of God does the Adventist Church have. Its been 100 years since E.G. White. The Bible says, "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids
in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered:
for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call. (Joel 2:28-32) Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: (Mal 4:5)
These scriptures indicate an outpouring of the holy spirit before the coming of Christ to get his people. Mal 4:5 had one fulfillment in John the Baptist but like much of the prophecies the great and dreadful day of the Lord indicates a double application. Just like in Joel we see the signs that were mentioned in the Great Controversy yet we know that those signs are not signs to anyone that live in the generation of Christs coming since they happened long ago and the Bible says, "And
there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth:
for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass,
then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:25-28) So likewise ye, when
ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. (Luke 21:31)
The strength of the scripture is that these signs will fortel Christs soon appearing and these signs can be "seen" by those who live in the last generation. The signs that took place in 1798 or long ago, although they fulfilled prophecy are also to be repeated at the end since the last generation is to be able to "see" this things and by them know that the time of Christ is near. Although some of these signs also took place several hundred years ago they are to be repeated in the last generations so that those people can know that the coming of Christ is near. It has a double application and so does the coming of Elijah the prophet.
This would then indicate that God will visit his people in the last days through the spirit of prophesy. From the scripture we know that the gift of prophesy is to continue until the close of time and the body of Christ grows up unto a perfect man. The condition of the Adventist Church indicates that it by no means reached that status of perfection yet, therefore it would stand to reason that God would definitely revive the spirit of prophesy in the last days. How would God possibly leave his people without any light going into all the last days events?
Regarding prophesy we know that many shall come in Christ name. False prophets exist and so do true ones. The false are produced to discredit the true, therefore we are commanded, "Despise not prophesyings.
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (1Th 5:20-21) This comand is a promise. God has pledged himself to reveal to us the truth about all things, otherwise we could not hold fast to that which is true. We are told to prove all prophecy and not just accept blindly anything. We know the rule is to the law and the testimony and the fruits. We know from I John that anyone being influenced by the spirit of God will bear the fruits of righteous living and love for God and the neighbor. For us to be able to test everything by the law and the testimony we first need to know what the law and the testimony is. All this God has pledge to give us in order for us to be able to hold fast to that which is true and dispise not prophecy. God has assured us that all prophecy that comes from him will be in harmony with the law and the testimony and so we are promised the ability to be able to discern truth from error so that we might be able to hold fast to that which is true.
There is an interesting quote regarding the spirit of prophecy in the last days at the close of the third angel's message. In Early Writtings pg. 279 it states, "I was pointed down to the time when the third angel's message
was closing. The power of God had rested upon his people; they had accomplished their work and were prepared for the trying hour before them. They had received the latter rain, or refreshing form the presence of the Lord, and
the living testimony had been revived. The last great warning had sounded everywhere, and it had stirred up and enraged the inhabitants of the earth who
would not receive the message." Sister Whites writting are not the "living testimony" since she is not living and can't give a living testimony to the church. She was the living testimony for her time but she says that it will be revived. Since it is revived at the end and the message is not received by the world, then we know that the spirit of prophecy will be on the earth in the last days. God will have a prophet or prophetess giving the living testimony again. Since it is linked to the Third Angel's message we can expect that it would be a message that is given first to the Adventist Church and then carried to the world.
This is sufficient to show that God will send a message to the Adventist Church and that some would receive it since it goes on to be proclaimed to the world. What is the last great warning? It is the warning in reference to the mark of the beast, the image of the beast, the number of the beast, the name of the beast, the number of his name, the worship of the first beast, the worship of the second beast (lamb like beast), the warning against the four fold union between the kings of the earth, the merchants of the earth, religious leaders and rulers who will all be in corrupt harmony. 2SM 68. These are the four groups that commit fornication with Babylon. The first beast (Rome) committed fornication with pagan sun worship and her sunday customs, the lamb like beast causes the kings of the earth through its military power to worship the first beast and thus causes them to commit fornication through the sunday law. It then causes the merchants of the earth to accept her 666 economic system of bying and selling, thus bringing them into union with pagan sun worship and through the mark of the beast in the "flesh" in the right hand and forehead bring the world population to worship the beast. The banks are in league with the merchants of the earth and accept her 666 economic system of bying and selling with the mark on the hand. Not only is the mark in the hand spoken against but also the number of his name. All four things are to be resisted by God's people. It stands to reason that such an important, vital truth as the rejection of the mark and all its other components would be clearly revealed by God to his church and the world. "And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten
the victory over
the beast, and over
his image, and over
his mark, and
over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. (Rev 15:2)" Notice the mark and the image are not the same. "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded
for the witness of Jesus, and
for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (Rev 20:4) The "witness of Jesus" at the time of the enforcement of the mark of the beast and his image. We know that this is the same as the testimony of Jesus which is the spirit of prophecy.
Now his people are called out of this entire system and union of the economic 666 system of the lamb like beast which it uses to cause all the inhabitants of the earth to commit fornication with the first beast who committed fornication with the 666 pagan sun worship system. The sin of Babylon and the kings, and the merchants is this fornication with pagan sun worship. The merchants can't be involved without also involving the banks. The bying and selling is an economic activity that goes through the banks. Thus in order for God's people to not commit the fornication mentioned in Revelation they will have to not be part of the system of the lamb like beast. They will have to reject the sunday adoration, the mark of the beast in the hand which will enable them to buy and sell, they will be seperate from all these unions that lead to spiritual fornication with sun worship paganism. That message will enrage the world. That message has not been given by the Adventist Church. The Adventist Church has not light regarding these specific things mentioned in Revelation (number of his name, etc) so she is not able to give the message. So it would stand to reason that a living testimony from Jesus is absolutely necessary at the end in order to give that message to the world.
So the exhortation stands, Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (1Th 5:20-21)
