same idea here -- Scriptures claim God has been intervening on Earth from before the Sun ignited (Gen 1). If life on Earth really requires a Heavenly influence, then eventually evidence of the necessity of such intervention would become clear. Obviously can't claim the jury has reached a final decision, but present observations are consistent with some wondrous, miraculous, extra-ordinary, supra-natural distinction between Earth and every other known star system.

My working hypothesis is that the goal of the creation of life on Earth is trees. They're bigger, longer-lived, and better looking than humans, after all. Primates were probably intended to be tree ornaments -- but something went wrong.

I'll just put it this way- if you went by the math and probability of what science right now sits on, there ought to be about 76 civilizations in the Milky Way alone. And that's excluding simpler life.

That's one mighty assumption to be made of the universe if you are a Christian, whose religion has not one single inkling of such a notion.

Where does it say that we are the sole sentient beings? Does this mean that you don't believe in angels, or that you think they aren't sentient?

Given the age, the size and the complexity of the universe, one could argue that the universe is "programmed" to produce life. We know that it has at least once.
