I never used the word "torture." The Lord will allow us to experience the consequences of our decisions. That can be painful.

Okay, I did, but I was just repeating what someone said to me. The Lord does allow us to suffer if we don't repent.

I think God is leading me to a place and in the way, of knowing if I can ever successfully repent of everything, then, he wants me to know, and remember and be sure, that it was basically "all him" and "none of me", basically, so I will not get puffed up or forget, but, I don't seem to be all the way there yet...?

He disciplines those of us he loves, for many very very numerous and very good reasons, according to each ones own ability, or inability, he knows what we can do even when we don't, and he knows that he will work it out for us, and always make it good for us, in this life and the next, if we have faith in him, that is all we need...

I am just saying his discipline is gentle, especially at first...
