No, I don't. I've learned that repentance leads to great peace. The Lord showed me that. I'd like everybody to know.i insist you have a mistaken image of god
So your peace was, or is in, your repentance...?No, I don't. I've learned that repentance leads to great peace. The Lord showed me that. I'd like everybody to know.
Well, let's take a close look at that. The Lord convinced me it was in my best interest to repent. I repented. You make the call.So your peace was, or is in, your repentance...?
Are you responsible for your repentance, or is God...?
If you think our God somehow condones, permits, or approves of, torture, then your wrong, period, end of story...No, I don't. I've learned that repentance leads to great peace. The Lord showed me that. I'd like everybody to know.
The Lord "convinced you", so, how much was you and how much was God...?Well, let's take a close look at that. The Lord convinced me it was in my best interest to repent. I repented. You make the call.
And are some "predestined to to be successful" at repenting, while some, are not...?Well, let's take a close look at that. The Lord convinced me it was in my best interest to repent. I repented. You make the call.
I never used the word "torture." The Lord will allow us to experience the consequences of our decisions. That can be painful. If you think our God somehow condones, permits, or approves of, torture, then your wrong, period, end of story...
That would make for a distorted image of God...
God Bless!
Ahh, post #98, I think you did...I never used the word "torture." The Lord will allow us to experience the consequences of our decisions. That can be painful.
Okay, I did, but I was just repeating what someone said to me. The Lord does allow us to suffer if we don't repent.Ahh, post #98, I think you did...
He disciplines those of us he loves, for many very very numerous and very good reasons, according to each ones own ability, or inability, he knows what we can do even when we don't, and he knows that he will work it out for us, and always make it good for us, in this life and the next, if we have faith in him, that is all we need...Okay, I did, but I was just repeating what someone said to me. The Lord does allow us to suffer if we don't repent.
The Lord shows the way and we follow. It's a team effort.I think God is leading me to a place and in the way, of knowing if I can ever successfully repent of everything, then, he wants me to know, and remember and be sure, that it was basically "all him" and "none of me", basically, so I will not get puffed up or forget, but, I don't seem to be all the way there yet...?
For I still sin, Alas!, God forgive me...
He applies no more pressure than he needs to.He disciplines those of us he loves, for many very very numerous and very good reasons, according to each ones own ability, or inability, he knows what we can do even when we don't, and he knows that he will work it out for us, and always make it good for us, in this life and the next, if we have faith in him, that is all we need...
I am just saying his discipline is gentle, especially at first...
Or than one can handle...He applies no more pressure than he needs to.
.The New Covenant is truly the glorious good news....
.The Lord shows the way and we follow. It's a team effort.
When we sin, we try to figure out what went wrong, and we try not to let it happen again. Don't be discouraged.
No, we are always faced with temptation, and sometimes we slip. Then we need to repent..
If you sin you have no place for Repentance.
The Repentance is a one time deal.
No, we are always faced with temptation, and sometimes we slip. Then we need to repent.
nonetheless your responses you sound like a penitent man, why you chose to be penitent and not blessed and with wealth like job. job was a wealthy man first - not in the middle - and wealthy again. but you are preaching here first middle and final penitence. will you denied it in the next post?
