  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The latest stunt by former environmental icon and current "Palestinian" activist Greta Thunberg is over. The first thing that happened when the ships of the self-appointed aid flotilla were stopped was that the activists (there were more than 200) threw their mobile phones into the sea.

Smartphones are full of heavy metals such as lead, mercury and cadmium. These components are harmful to the ocean and marine life.

According to Italian media reports, the Gaza activists followed a strictly defined protocol designed to cover their tracks in terms of supporters and financial backers. Participants in the fleet of dozens of sailing ships were instructed to destroy their mobile phones in the event of boarding by the Israeli military!

This is consistent with the Israeli government's publication of documents proving Hamas' involvement in the alleged aid operation. The details point to a connection between the Gaza aid flotilla and dubious financiers and structures of the terrorist organisation Hamas:

1759671608162.jpeg

A letter from 2021 signed by Ismail Haniyeh, then head of Hamas' political bureau. In it, Haniyeh addresses the chairman of the "Palestinian Conference for Palestinians Abroad" (PCPA), a body that acts as Hamas' foreign leadership, although it outwardly pretends to be a civilian organisation. In this document, Haniyeh explicitly calls for “unity of the ranks” and gives his public approval to the PCPA.

Another document lists leading PCPA activists by name, including Zaher Birawi, who has been a key figure behind the Gaza flotillas for over 15 years. Birawi is based in the UK and is considered a long-time propagandist for Hamas in the West. Also mentioned is Saif Abu Kishk, an official in Spain who is also the CEO of a company called “Cyber Neptune.” This civilian-sounding umbrella organization holds the ownership rights to numerous ships that have set course for Gaza. The company acts as a front company to conceal property linked to Hamas. This makes it clear that the boats of the so-called “Freedom Flotilla” are in fact owned by Hamas.

At the same time, the organizers attempted to portray the operation as an international protection convoy, accompanied by European and Turkish forces. In Israel, this is seen as a deliberate staging to create the image of a “humanitarian aid convoy.”

1759671638853.jpeg

The published documents make one thing abundantly clear: these are not spontaneous solidarity trips by idealistic activists, but part of an international terrorist infrastructure operating on behalf of and with the approval of Hamas.

‘Self-obsessed, moronic Israel hater’: Dark underside of Greta's Gaza mission exposed.

The US has promised Qatar an unprecedented guarantee of protection. President Trump has declared that any future attacks on the emirate would be considered a threat to the US itself. This gives the rulers in Doha a security guarantee that was previously reserved for NATO countries.

The US guarantee may be realpolitik from Washington's point of view. But it applies to a country that has been closely linked to Hamas for years. Doha is home to the terrorist organization's political office, high-ranking Hamas officials live there undisturbed, and billions of dollars from Qatar regularly flow into the Gaza Strip, officially as “humanitarian aid,” but in fact a crucial source of funding for Hamas.

While Israel bears the consequences for every rocket fired from Gaza, Trump is now guaranteeing statehood protection for the very country that courts this terrorist organization. This is more than just a diplomatic balancing act, it is a contradiction that is hard to overlook.

This is a bitter pill for Jerusalem to swallow. On the one hand, Israel needs the US as its strongest ally. On the other hand, it sees Washington backing a country that has been playing a double game for years, on the one hand acting as a mediator, on the other hand providing sanctuary for an organization that carried out massacres on Oct 7 and whose declared policy remains the destruction of Israel.

History will show whether this step will bring peace or whether it will simply give new weight to an old problem: that Hamas is not being persecuted in Doha, but is welcome there.

Given the amount of time Benaiah468 devotes to writing so many words in this thread I really think he should be able to find away that explained that I didn't "say" this - this was part of a quote from a South African newspaper which I included in my post. As it stands Benaiah468's statement above is false and deceptive. That doesn't mean the quoted statement isn't true but its attribution to me personally is false and deceptive.

There is no reason to regard Giorgia Meloni as any kind of expert or unbiased commentator in this. Her party is too right wing for the granddaughter of Mussolini!

Meloni too right wing for Mussolini’s kin

Meloni’s party has its roots in Italy’s post-World War II neo-fascist movement, and despite her efforts to present it as a mainstream conservative group, she has adopted hardline policies on immigration, abortion, and same-sex parenting, Reuters reported. Italy did not pursue a post-war denazification campaign like Germany did, and the country “has never truly come to terms with its [fascist] past,” an Italian journalist told the BBC.
So not the best person for a supporter of Israel to be quoting.

The flotilla members were kidnapped in international waters. This is clearly unlawful according to the Law of the Sea. Attempts at justification are just pointless hot air.

The unbearable Thunberg and part of her entourage were now deported! She, who does not care about the hostages brutally tortured and murdered by Hamas, complained about ‘mistreatment’ in Israeli custody due to a lack of five-star cuisine and bed bugs.

The ‘flotilla project’ was not a humanitarian mission, but a deliberate media spectacle. The participants entered Israel as part of a planned PR campaign.

The supply of the civilian population in Gaza is ensured through existing humanitarian channels, not through political provocations at sea.

Israel, Italy, Greece and the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem had offered the flotilla to deliver all the aid it had for Gaza by peaceful means. However, the flotilla rejected this offer because it is not interested in aid, but in provocation.

Israel does not tolerate the uncontrolled import of aid supplies by sea. The only permitted access is via the port of Ashdod.

Israel has been under attack from Gaza since 2007 and therefore invokes the rules of maritime law and naval warfare. This law provides for a blockade zone of approximately 20 nautical miles off the coast of Gaza. If the blockade is to be broken, the Israeli navy may also intercept ships outside the 12-mile zone. This is also regulated in the San Remo Manual on the Law of Naval Warfare. Furthermore, under current maritime law, Israel is entitled to protect its economic interests. These include offshore natural gas fields such as Tamar, Leviathan, Karish and Tanin. Here, the border extends up to 200 nautical miles.

A glance at the rules and regulations would have taught the ‘activists’ and their accomplices a lesson: they broke the law. This gives Israel the right to ‘intercept suspicious or unauthorised ships’.

The 470 activists, including Greta Thunberg, who attempted to break through the Israeli naval blockade of the Gaza Strip during the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, are therefore lawbreakers, most of whom have since been deported to their countries of origin. Their accusations against Israel are pure propaganda. Their claim that they wanted to bring food to Gaza is unfounded. According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, no food was found on the ships that exceeded the passengers' own needs.

When the Israeli navy took over the ships, the ‘intruders’ threw their mobile phones and computers overboard. Presumably, they wanted to prevent the Israeli authorities from exposing the financiers of their ‘aid flotilla’ and thus destroy evidence of their contacts with Hamas in Gaza and Europe. They did not care about the environment at all.

Israel is going to repel any further ships that set sail to attack the Gaza blockade, which is covered by maritime law.

I suspect that Donald 45&47 himself questioned that when he declared that on acceptance of his 20-point Peace Plan, Aid would flow into Gaza.

Without the massacre of Oct 7, we would not even be discussing this here. Hamas has brought its own population into this situation with the war. Israel has allowed humanitarian aid to be delivered to Gaza throughout the war. Otherwise, there would be no inhabitants left in the Gaza Strip. And what has prevented the delivery of humanitarian aid is one power: Hamas.

Two years after Oct 7, Hamas commemorated the anniversary in its own way. In an official statement accompanied by a computer-generated video, the terrorist organisation described the attack as a ‘glorious day of transition’. The video, created from partly fake, partly AI-generated material, shows scenes of violence and even reconstructs the alleged death video of its leader Yahya Sinwar as a symbol of ‘martyrdom.’ It lists the names of terrorists who have been killed in the past two years, not as perpetrators, but as ‘heroes’ whose victims ‘prepared the way for victory’.

Today's video is more than a tasteless provocation: it is a message. It is intended to show that Hamas continues to exist despite its defeats, that its hostility towards Israel is not tactical but absolute. It is defined not by politics but by a desire for destruction.

In Israel itself, many reacted with disbelief to the publication. Relatives of the victims spoke of a ‘second murder,’ a desecration of memory. A father who lost his daughter at the Nova Festival said in an interview with Kan News:

They celebrate killing. And the world watches as if it were bizarre news, not a crime.

Two years after the massacre, the gulf between civilisation and barbarism, between remembrance and cynicism, is clear for all to see.

While Israel mourns its dead, the squares of Europe fill with slogans against the Jewish state. While candles burn and names are read out in Jerusalem, chants against Israel echo in London, Manchester, and Oslo. In Paris and Madrid, demonstrators carry posters bearing the slogan “From the river to the sea,” the battle cry for the destruction of the Jewish state.

In Melbourne graffiti appeared celebrating Hamas and calling for the murders to be repeated. ‘Glory to Hamas’ was sprayed just a few streets away from a memorial service. In Sydney, graffiti appears demanding “Oct 7 - do it again.” In Bologna, a planned rally entitled “Long live Oct 7” is banned at the last minute. It shows that hatred lives on and knows no boundaries.

In Berlin, hundreds gathered in the evening for an anti-Israel demonstration despite a prior ban. Participants chanted anti-Israel and anti-Semitic slogans, including ‘Repeat 7 Oct’ in Arabic. Demonstrators also chanted slogans such as ‘There is only one solution, Intifada Revolution,’ ‘Israel, murderer of children,’ ‘There is only one state, Palestine 48,’ ‘F... you, Israel, Germany is a fascist state,’ ‘Long live the Resistance,’ and ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.’

What masquerades as ‘solidarity with Palestine’ has long since become a stage for dehumanisation. The day that should commemorate the worst anti-Semitic mass murder since the Shoah is being turned by many into a political tribunal against Israel.

Nothing illustrated this moral reversal more clearly than a scene from London that went viral on the morning of the anniversary: a young woman stands at a fence in the north of the city. Hundreds of yellow ribbons hang from it, each ribbon represents one of the Israeli hostages who were abducted on 7 October, many of them children.

The woman pulls out a pair of scissors, reaches for the ribbons and begins to cut them off one by one. Passers-by shout in outrage, trying to stop her, but she just smiles. When asked why she is doing this, she replies: ‘These ribbons justify genocide.’ The scene remains a symbol of something deeper: the erosion of moral instincts in societies that consider themselves tolerant

x.com

Double standards also prevail at the political level. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez condemns Hamas' terrorism, but in the same message accuses the Israeli government of ‘genocide.’ French President Macron writes ‘We will not forget,’ while Israeli flags are burned and Jewish schoolchildren are threatened in Paris.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres calls for an ‘end to civilian suffering’ and praises Donald Trump's peace plan, words that hardly find an audience in Israel. For those who lament suffering without naming the perpetrators, who call for peace without demanding truth, have already taken sides, not for the victims, but for the convenience of the spectators.

In the US, Secretary of State Marco Rubio reaffirms his ‘unwavering solidarity’ with Israel. But even there, a new coldness is seeping in. The Democratic mayoral candidate for New York, Zohran Mamdani, stated in a post: ‘Hamas committed a war crime, but Israel's response was genocide.’ Such equations transform morality into cynicism and terror into a political argument.

In view of the prophesied events before Messiah's return, it is not surprising that Israel is at the center of all these events. Jerusalem is increasingly becoming the burden of the nations. This is bound to happen before all nations come against Jerusalem, as prophesied by the prophet Zechariah

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. Zec 12:3

Jerusalem will be like a heavy stone for the nations. Anyone who tries to lift Jerusalem, that is, to conquer or control the city, will tear themselves apart, that is, fail and suffer damage.

G-d protects His people and His city, even when they are threatened from all sides.

Those who oppose He's plans will ultimately not prevail.

After two years of war between Israel and Hamas, the US President now has announced the signing of the agreement, which was negotiated in Egypt, which includes ceasefire and return of hostages.

But between diplomatic triumph and political calculation, one question remains unanswered: will this agreement really bring peace or just a pause before the next storm?

The agreement provides for an immediate ceasefire, a partial withdrawal of Israeli troops and the start of a comprehensive prisoner exchange. Hamas declared that it had agreed to the ‘final ceasefire’ on condition that Israel withdraw completely from those areas that the organisation defines as ‘Palestinian land’. According to Hamas' logic, this includes not only the Gaza Strip, but also Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem, i.e. the entire area between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River.

This makes clear what many Israeli observers view with concern: Hamas does not regard the ceasefire as a peace agreement, but as a tactical step. Its goal remains the dissolution of Israel, not the coexistence of two states.

Peace does not begin with signatures, but with trust, and that does not exist with Hamas.

Nevertheless, the Israeli army is preparing to implement the agreement, while the political debate has already begun: What does this ‘peace’ mean if the other side still does not recognise the Jewish state?

As long as terrorists in Gaza confuse the term ‘liberation’ with the destruction of Israel, any peace will only be temporary.

Oh Greta! You are using a photo of the starving hostage Evyatar David for your propaganda to claim that "Palestinians" are being dehumanised.

Is there no limit to your moral depravity?

Greta Thunberg wanted to denounce "Palestinian" hostages held by the Israelis in a post and showed a photo of Hamas hostage Evyatar David as proof. The image of David was a still frame from a Hamas propaganda video. Since his abduction at the Nova Festival two years ago, David has been in the clutches of Hamas terrorists and has been deliberately starved by the "Palestinians". She published her revealing post along with others on Instagram.

In the post, Thunberg compared the prisoners of the Sumud flotilla, who were arrested last week with the plight of "Palestinians" in Israeli prisons, claiming that over 11,000 "Palestinian hostages and prisoners" are being held in unsanitary and inhumane conditions.

There she writes about the "hostages" from the Gaza flotilla.

Their suffering is real and no human being should ever be subjected to such pain, fear or humiliation.

It is an obvious attempt to put herself on the same level as the Hamas hostages.

David's photo was later quietly deleted. The comment section, however, is full of reminders that his image was there, with users decrying the lies showcased in the post.

Yeela David, Evyatar’s sister, commented on the post saying Thunberg needed to

do research before posting things you don’t understand.

She then added that,

every minute you are not deleting the post, you are becoming a bigger joke. Embarrassing.

The Israeli MFA posted a screenshot of the deleted slide next to a zoomed-in version of the still image of David, declaring,

Ignorance blinded by hate is trending.

x.com

Israeli model Noa Cochva, named Miss Universe Israel in 2021, wrote:

If you really cared about your beloved Palestinians, you’d put Evyatar face front and centre and demand one thing: Bring every hostage home now. Release them. Dismantle Hamas. That’s literally the only thing that can end this war. Stop using our tragedy for your personal PR and start doing what can actually END THE WAR. 'Bring them home' is all you should be saying.

With the photo that has now surfaced, Greta Thunberg has exposed herself.

It shows how propaganda works: facts are replaced by images, emotions and moral posturing even if this means exploiting the suffering of kidnapped victims.

The fact that activists who call themselves "humanitarians" are exploiting this suffering for their campaign reveals how deep the moral abyss has now become.

2 Thessalonians 2:11
Isaiah 66:4

The government of Israel is deluded. And sadly it seems so are many of it's inhabitants. They are a godless nation.

One does not need to be a great theologian to recognise that G-d's actions with Israel today are in remarkable agreement with His prophetic word.

He is keeping His promises to Israel. G-d has made a dramatic shift from judgement to restoration. Just as He has not relented in ‘punishing’ Israel, He will not relent now in bringing all the good things He has promised Israel.

The biblical prophets who foresaw G-d's work of redemption among the nations also spoke of the restoration and redemption of Israel. They saw a twofold ministry concerning restored Israel. One is directed toward Israel, the other toward the nations.

Just as G-d is passionately involved in the salvation of the nations, He is also very passionate about the restoration of Israel (Zec 8:1ff), both physical and spiritual.

The prophet Isaiah exclaims:

Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your G-d. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord's hand double for all her sins. Isa 40:1-2

We are undoubtedly living in times of restoration. Never before has G-d been as active as He has been in the last century in restoring what needs to be restored. He is certainly not yet at the end of this process, as many of His promises for Israel have not yet been fulfilled.

The Hebrew prophets foresaw that one day G-d would pour out His Spirit of grace and of supplications upon His people, and that they would look upon Him whom they had pierced (Zec 12:10). A people whom Moses and the prophets described as rebellious, with an uncircumcised heart, would receive a new heart of flesh, that can feel, love, and desire Him, and be filled within the Spirit of G-d, which renews their mind, clarifies their judgment, and refines their will (Ez 36:26-27).

This is exactly what the psalmist describes:

Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. Ps 102:13

Herein lies our calling for the nations: not to repeat the opinions of the world, but to proclaim G-d's perspective with love, truth, and clarity.

It is a problem what Donald Trump has done to the entire "Palestinian" protest scene, which has been up in arms for weeks, both worldwide and in Germany, and is almost rampaging through the streets everywhere. And always with the aim of branding Israel as the devil of the world, with whom it is somehow impossible to talk, who must be destroyed, etc. In other words, full-on Hamas propaganda.

And now, to be honest, something like a worst-case scenario is happening. Hamas itself is signing an agreement with Israel through the mediation of, wait for it, the next enemy, Donald Trump. And that must be the ultimate worst-case scenario for this scene, because now they are losing their mobilisation issue. They can't even say that Hamas has been treated badly, unfairly beaten or anything like that. No, Hamas signed it themselves and took the first step towards this peace agreement. And Greta Thunberg is part of this pro-"Palestinian", pro-Hamas, anti-Israel, anti-Jewish scene.

And that could be a problem for Greta Thunberg, because Greta Thunberg and protest are, in a way, also a business for her. She cleverly tries to keep that under wraps; for example, there is no official information about her personal wealth. One business magazine estimates that she is worth around 3.5M USD. But there is evidence that shows that cash flows are obviously also dependent on the respective political climate. And so far in 2025, things may have been going quite well for her with the flotilla she organised and her appearances. But apart from that, she hasn't really found anything groundbreakingly new after the climate issue.

The signing of the agreement shows the power of the US president so one wonders why did it take so long (Biden and Trump? Is this all about hopes for a Nobel peace prize?

One hopes for an end to all the needless killing and destruction but both sides have broken agreements in the past.

Notice, peace can only happen *after* the release of the hostages... Not sure why people have been so dense as to not realize this, when it was being said all along.
