World Food Programme halts Gaza staff movements after vehicle fired upon at Israeli checkpoint​

In a statement, the World Food Programme (WFP) said the incident happened at the Wadi Gaza bridge on Tuesday evening as two of its armoured vehicles were escorting a convoy of lorries with humanitarian aid.

The WFP said that while nobody was injured, one vehicle was directly hit, despite the convoy being clearly marked and "receiving multiple clearances by Israel".

Executive director Cindy McCain described the incident as "totally unacceptable".

"I call on the Israeli authorities and all parties to the conflict to act immediately to ensure the safety and security of all aid workers in Gaza," she added.

Israel strikes aid convoy organized by U.S. humanitarian group, killing 5​

The Israeli military fired a missile killing five people in the lead vehicle of an aid convoy in Gaza that it claimed had been hijacked by militants.

The D.C.-based nonprofit that organized the convoy, American Near East Refugee Aid, known as Anera, described it as a “shocking incident” in a statement on Friday and said that those killed were from a local transportation company. It was urgently seeking more details about the incident.

The convoy had been delivering medical supplies and fuel to an Emirati-run hospital in Rafah, Palestine Country Director Sandra Rasheed said in the statement to The Washington Post, and its route was coordinated with the Israel Defense Forces.

In its account of the incident, the IDF said ... gunmen had seized the lead vehicle of the convoy, prompting the attack.

“During the convoy’s journey, armed militants took control of a vehicle at the front of the convoy,” the IDF said. “An attack was carried out against them. No other vehicles in the convoy were harmed, and it reached its destination as planned.”

An Anera employee, Mousa Shawwa, a logistics coordinator in Gaza, was killed on March 8 by an Israeli airstrike while he was in a deconflicted shelter, the charity’s CEO Sean Carroll told The Washington Post at the time. The relief worker’s 6-year-old son, Karim, also died 10 days later from injuries suffered during the attack, he said.

I'm actually not surprised with this. Revenge is a typical human response when friends family members are slaughtered for no reason. And then you find out the Gazan civilians were involved and are hiding g and helping Hamas, then revenge is understandable. Even though we feel revenge is the wrong motive.

We all know who is actually responsible for driving rhe revenge factor. The Isreali soldiers would never have been there exacting revenge if it weren't for Hamas, most likely driven by Iran. If they would have left Israel alone, none of this would have happened.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz said he discussed the cowardly terror strike with Netanyahu. He also declared that “Hezbollah crossed all red lines” and Israel was now “facing an all-out war” with the terror group.

It's astounding to me to think there are people here who are appalled at a safe zone being hit because hamas was there. Do people not understand that hamas will go anywhere? They've been in schools, hospitals, and transporting in ambulances. What on earth makes us think they wouldn't go into a safe zone? Of course they would because either two things will happen. They will be safe or they place Palestinians in danger as they hide behind them.

I should be clear right now there is no safe place for Hamas and until Hanas is beaten there will be no safe place for Palestinians who are not supporters.

They do attack Israeli troops when they illegally occupy schools and hospitals. Hamas won't even attack Israeli troops who are sent to medivac other Israeli troops.

The same reason 2 babies and a toddler were killed on October 7, and thousands of babies and toddlers were killed by the IDF. Hamas shows the ability to restrain themselves while the IDF shows no ability to restrain itself.

What did Hamas do?

Revenge is when you attack those who have done something to you. Gangraping innocent people is not revenge. It's reveling in the in the dehumanization of another.

As I've said before, only 2 babies and one toddler died on October 7. In addition, between 30-40 children under the age of 18 died. While tragic, this is not even close to thousands of babies and toddlers Israel has purposefully killed. Israel has purposefully killed over fourteen thousand children. Since October 7, I have seen no children killed by Hamas.

Perhaps that is what is needed in order of Israel to continue to survive in the region. It's a proven fact now that rhe Palestinians refuse to leave Israel alone. I'm beginning to think that in order for Israel to survive the Palestinians need to be driven out.
