  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

@Marilyn C please take a look at my post #80. I refer to some verses in Joel 3 and their connection to Revelation 14 and Jesus's return.

Hi Douggg,

Yes I have had a look. Thank you for including me. And I do believe the connection you say between Joel 3 and Rev. 14.

So my question is - `What scripture tells you of the 1,290 days before Jesus returns?`

Marilyn.

The odds are that "the antichrist" is the republican Jesus who doesn't help the poor and is obsessed with possessing guns
Is this the good old "God Is An American" gospel?

Herewith, poetry:
In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all, By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul; But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy, And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: "If you don't work you die." -- Rudyard Kipling

Then; the Anti-Christ will demand on pain of death; worship of himself. Not Mahomed or any other false deity.
Pedantic objection: Mohammed isn't a deity in Islam, he is the prophet of Islam. By their confession, in Islam "there is no God but God".

Muslims believe that Allah is the same God worshipped by the People of the Book (Jews and Christians), but they believe that the POTB have lost/misrepresented/distorted the revelations of the prophets (amongst whom they include Jesus), and ignored Mohammed, whom they consider the last and greatest prophet. Their theology is very close to that of Judaism, much moreso than either is to Christian theology. And like the Jews, the Muslims believe that claiming Christ is God Incarnate is blasphemous.

And just for lagniappe, Muslims in no way worship a "moon god", and think the idea is both stupid and nonsensical. The best way to be dismissed as a hopeless nutter by any Muslim is to claim that "Allah" refers to a pagan deity of any kind.

Quite right.
I have lived in Muslim countries and have put up with the horrible noise of the muezzin 5 times a day.
I have read the Koran, a difficult thing as it is a repetitious and very boring book.

My point is that the worship of most peoples during the end times, will be that of their leader, known to Christians as the Anti-Christ.

Some translations of the Quran insist on transliterating the word Allah rather than translating it as God to distinguish him from the Trinitarian God. And Muslim extremists do the same. I'm not saying that Allah is different from God. Arabic Bibles render God into Allah.

Their theology is very close to that of Judaism, much moreso than either is to Christian theology. And like the Jews, the Muslims believe that claiming Christ is God Incarnate is blasphemous.
This is true.
