The Islamic claim is proven false by a book (In Arabic language) called, "Making Easy the Readings of What Has Been Sent Down" by Muhammad Fahd Khaaruun. Both books show that the copy of the book of Mormon and the Koran used today is different from what was originally used when each religion was started.

This contradicts the Bible: "But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless." *** 3:9 While the Bible says avoid focusing in Genealogies, the Mormon church makes it their central focus of mission. Mormons have even been criticized for baptizing, by proxy, the Jews had died in Nazi Holocaust camps. When lists of genealogies are collected, living Mormons are baptized, on behalf of, those on the lists, who have already died. In this way, Mormons view every man who lived, as being Mormons. In the same way Muslims claim that all men are born Muslims and when they learn the truth of Christianity, they are apostatizing from their first faith. Muslims re-write history by proclaiming Jesus and the Apostles were Muslims in a similar way Mormons baptize Jews (for example) with the expectation they will be Mormons in the next life. Yet gathering of large genealogical lists no more makes dead people Mormons in the next life, than re-writing history makes Jesus into a Muslim.

He didn't state that they are the same. He said they are similar.

Muhammed never faced martyrdom, becauase when he was faced with danger, he ran away to Medina. Muslims calculate their years from this date as if it's something to be proud of.

He was in jail at the time, under arrest for having ordered the destruction of a Nauvoo newspaper which dared to print an exposure (which was true) of his secret sexual liaisons. At that time he had announced his candidacy for the presidency of the United States, set up a secret government, and secretly had himself crowned "King of the Kingdom of God

I have a vague notion to that Jerusalem is holy to Muhammedans because he ascended into heaven from there. I don't know if this was just for a visit, or at his death.

i believe he was poisened.

the acending into heaven bit you talk about was a different time. It was a journey he made during his life.

But he came back.

From my memory, there isnt anyone in heaven yet except jesus (they believe he acended into heaven and didnt die) because our souls cant enter heaven or hell untill judgement day. This is the day the world ends and allah will judge all people that have lived. Dead people souls are currently in a resting place awaithing judgement.

I think this includes Muhammad as well.

I may be some off. im sure a muslim here will clear things up for us.

the asending story of mohammad is ment to be a night when he made a trip with an angel to jerusalem and they from the dome of the rock acended into heaven. but only for a short while. I forget the reason why now. to see paradises glory or somthing. but anyway, he returned back to earth that night and the next day told people where he went and alot of people thought what he was saying was impossible because jerusalem was days (weeks??) travel away. but he could name things in the city perfect even though he had never been there before that night (apparently). and people who had been there were amazed and said he must have traveled there in a night because he could name things in the city.Goin by that the assumed he must be tellinng the truth and hence also went to heaven.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH did not run away to Medina, he was ordered by the Almighty God to do so. his immigration to Madina is a clear proof of his truthfulness, because although he was then helpless and own nothing, he immigrated to madina knowing that the Jews there were very rich, powerful and in control of everything. God helped His Prophet and the faithfuls to defeat them, some were killed because they conspired against Muslims and their prophet, some embraced Islam because they saw for themselves that it is the true religion, the rest were dismissed from Madina and surrounding area so that they don't conspire again

After that the Prophet was involved in many battles with the pagans, he was almost killed in some of them, but God saved him, he died from the effect of some poison which is a kind of martyrdom because a Jewish woman put in a cooked lamb, he took one bite, the meat told him about the poison (I know you will laugh, but this is what happened and people saw the result) . he stopped eating but some of his companions who shared the meat with died , he asked the woman about the reason for what she did, she said that she was testing his authenticity , if he was a true prophet then God would save him, if not she will get rid of him. she was killed for poisoning that person who died.

as for Mormonism: did it come before or after Islam?
Years ago I had a Mormon friend who was a priest of a Mormon church somewher in Iowa, he used the Holy Quran a lot , he said it is very basic and contains material he likes to use for his sermons.
