I mean that each person decides what is true for themselves based upon their own personal standard, whatever that may be and that standard varies from person to person. Take a peek at the threads on homosexuality in this very forum. There are people there who are denying that the scriptures say that homosexuality is wrong. They are denying God's clear written declaration on the matter and favoring their own wisdom based uopn what they consider to be reasonable.
Actually, if you'll read it again, you will see that I say "free FROM sin", not "free TO sin." I have also testified dozens of times about how I've been FREED from various sins. What you are saying here is that you are free to sin, holo.
Yes, and in every issue we meet in, you talk about freedom from the law as a freedom TO sin. Which it simply is not. Again, don't speak for ME. If you were free from the law, perhaps the natural thing for you to do would be to go and sin. But for me it's the opposite. You are saying that with every issue we meet in.
Which parameters? I haven't read about any "parameters" in the bible. I have Christ, I am IN Christ, and Christ is IN me, and He's more than capable of living correctly. You tend to make light of the fact that we do have parameters in Christ
Sure. And how did Jesus live? He didn't need to check with the law in order to know how to behave. In fact, He didn't do anything of Himself - He saw what the Father did, and did the same.and that we have a responsibility to walk in the light after the example of Jesus Christ.
But what I jolly well please is to do good. How about you?You are not free to do whatever you jolly well please, holo.
I know. But I'll tell you what I doubt even more - that GOD has instructed YOU to tell ME that I sin by masturbating.
I am as free from the law and from sin as Adam and Eve were.

"Ah, I see. Would you consider the idea that God gives different people different convictions (i.e. You may drink alcohol in moderation if you wish, but you should not as it is more dangerous for you) to fall under this same heading?"Ah, I see. Would you consider the idea that God gives different people different convictions (i.e. You may drink alcohol in moderation if you wish, but you should not as it is more dangerous for you) to fall under this same heading?
Tell me how. How did you experience this calling or task or what we may call it?
Let me clarify; when I say that I'm free from the law, you seem to take that to mean that I claim to be free to sin.I absolutely DO NOT.
Nope. You appear to be universalist. Is that right?
It's not so much a fire insurance as a new nature. And this new nature wishes nothing but good. So yes, I am indeed free to do whatever I think is good. In fact, I'm encouraged to do what I think is GOOD.You think that once you have your fire insurance, you are free to do whatever you think is good
Then we agree! We are free from the law that binds us. We are not free to sin, but we are free from the pull of sin on our lives. Because of Christ, we are free to say, "No!" to sin
Yes, and He is pleased when we are kind to each other. Take care of the poor, preach the good news, etc.Jesus calls us to do good, but to please HIM---not ourselves!
OK. Do you do this with every sin you see, or just the sin you suppose masturbation to be. What about churches spending millions on their pretty buildings? What about the people who starve to death because christians watch passively? If it's really your task to warn to repentance, do you live up to that task? Or do you pick and choose this and that particular sin to rant about? We are to warn our erring brethren. Sometimes we discover by doing so, thet they aren't brethren at all. It's a good thing, for that is a great opportunity to give the light of the true gospel of Jesus Christ to bring that person to repentance.
Hebrews 3:13
You must warn each other every day, while it is still today, so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.
Ezekiel 33:9
But if you warn them to repent and they dont repent, they will die in their sins, but you will have saved yourself.

Well, that IS what I think - that you don't jump on every sin you see. Just wondering if you have som particular way of deciding which sins to focus on.
If so, I can't help but wonder how you find the time to focus so much on masturbation.
It's like a mind thing don't worry about it ...
Pay attention to forgiving others, love offerings, reading your bible, glutony, grudges all of these items are much worse sins than a tune up for your soul.
A soul is everything you put into it both good and bad.
Don't worry about it ... worry is a sin you know.
