Is Tool a Satanic Band? Are They Religious?

I've Been Listening to Tool, Once in a While and i found one song with Questionable lyrics....and it said
"The devil with his had me down
In love with the dark side I'd found"

ok im confused now, does anyone have answers for this?

I seriously doubt it hat they are satanic. The only song,m thoi that I really liked was Schism.

hey I wouldnt stop listening to them for the mentioned lyric, but from what these people have brought up maybe.....some other bands I've found with satanic lyrics and had to quit listening to ....Demons and wizards(AWESOME BAND....I am so upset they sing alot abt stuff like...God isnt real/he is really a dark peson etc), Avenged Sevenfold(cool band, but they've said they are on satans side in "beast and the harlot") AFI(the song miss murder is about how God left us behind) Evanescense has questionable lyrics....both for and against God.....and some more i cant think of...Outworld, and Dream theater have definatly had some stuff like that...

Bands I listen to that I havent found satanic lyrics that i thought i would have

Disturbed, Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Metallica, Blind Guardian, Wuthering Heights, Dragonforce, Bullet for my Valentine, Chiodos, Sixx AM, Black Sabbath, Godsmack....the name may be enough for me to quit on em tho....

I think this song or at least this part is about a person that helped Maynard get out of a bad part of his life. It says he was in love with the dark side which could mean that he was really enjoying self destructive habits. That's how I understand it.

When Maynard was questioned whether they were or not, he responded:

so many bands have said thing like that just to get people to react

this is wings for marie (pt1) and 10000 days (pt2) is about his reclently diceased mother (which was a baptist) of maynard the lead singer about how he bascally disagreed with her beleves and that he could never beleve it (his mother was paralyzed from a stroke and all for 27 years which explains why its called 10000 days )and any rate his singing a song for her even thou his disagreed with her beleves he said how he loves his mother and basically saying truely she defently desevers to go to heaven cause she was a very dictcated christen who had a very tough live and she was still a great person and how he envyied her beleve even tho he doesn't beleve it so i don't think his music is that bad sober and opiate are more angry hatred for the christian beleves

I was reading an interview in a magazine with the lead singer of Tool a long while back. He said that some of Tool's lyrics are influenced by the Occult. He said he did not personally believe in that type of stuff, but it did intrigue him. I would be very careful.
