If you're filled with God's spirit and saved...
You won't experience depression, suicidal thoughts, mental illness.... No matter what happens you bounce back and are always faithful..

And if you don't...you're not saved...

Is that really true... If so maybe I should examine myself...but I do know in my heart and soul in saved...and I will battle anyone all day..because I know what I did and believe in and I remember my baptism.

I'd say false. Just because we are being saved doesn't mean we live perfect happy lives. We're still daily battling good and bad inside ourselves till death.
This is a normal human state. We suffer and endure persecution just as Christ did before us.
I have bad moments and bad days but always faithful and hopeful.

I don't believe its true that if you are saved you don't experience depression, suicidal thoughts and mental illness. I am saved and I experience those things. I feel God still loves people who suffer.

No, although He gives us the tools to combat these things whether by perseverance or by healing that those who ignore Him do not have.

Even when we are filled with God's spirit, we aren't perfect and we're still gonna have struggles in this life. Somewhere in the Bible (I don't remember where) I think it says something about how rain falls on both the saved followers and the sinners who've rejected him, which I've always seen as a metaphor to mean that bad things and rough times will happen to everyone in this life. Having the bad thoughts doesn't mean you aren't saved; it means you're human and you still mess up, but you can still be saved. Keep your eyes on Jesus, and God will work things out to help you through the hard times, and to bless you in the good times. Life will still be rough, but having God makes it easier to get through.

You're probably going to suffer and have problems as a Christian. It's a good thing in a way because you become less attached to this life and your hope lies in Heaven. That's how it works for me anyway. If you do have a good amount of suffering in your life, God will reward you in Heaven with a crown of suffering. Nothing you go through is in vain.

If you feel more persecution as a Christian, it's because the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. If you want a good example of what it means to be Christ-like, look at what the world did to Jesus. They rejected Him, beat Him, spat in His face, and killed Him. Likewise, His disciples were imprisoned, beaten, and crucified. They risked their lives every single day to share the gospel and instead of complaining about their lot, they sang and gave thanks. They counted it as joy.

Look at any story in the bible. There is no uber-religious guy who God chooses to do great things. They are all people who are struggling. They fight to overcome monstrous odds. Do you think Daniel should've been depressed when thrown in the lion's den to be killed? Instead he got to watch God do something amazing.

Moses wasn't some ultra-religious guy. He murdered an Egyptian, among a myriad of other sins, and got to lead the Jews away from Egypt and what happened? The people complained. They were more comfortable and happy in slavery and ended up staying stuck in the wilderness rather than going into the Promised Land.

So, that's a decision you have to make. This isn't about YOU. None of it is about YOU and YOUR feelings. It's about God and giving HIM glory.

Yes we have life as in eternal life. There are no guarantees for happiness on Earth.

Well didn't Paul have a thorn god didn't remove? I've read an article about a pastor that dealt with depression.

I guess I view having thorns different from being depressed and suicidal. Just cant imagine Having the mind of christ and being mentally depressed and suicidal.....but I dont completely rule anything out.

As far as Pastors.....some are hired and fired just like employees. Pastor does not always equal spirit filled.

Sometimes it happens like that...As a Christian you don't get everything you want you just don't.. If you think that you came to god for the wrong reason. I got hung up on that too.
