Is there anything that you admire about Muslims?

Don't you think that's a rather universal/blanket answer?

No...

However as I said, all mankind has attributes given by common grace.

For this we admire God the creator.

Paul made it clear however that humanistic acts from human motive don't cut it.

1 Cor 13: 3

And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.

Is there anything particularly good about Muslims that is not found in non-Muslims?

I am reminded of landing in the Gulf States and being concerned about the hotel porter stealing from my bags.

No problem I was informed - if he steals he gets his hands chopped off...

The porter was very nice....

...so would you be under that kind of threat.

Please focus on the question: Is there anything particularly good about Muslims that is not found in non-Muslims?

Yes... I have worked with them in Israel and Lebanon some lovely people, but sadly following a different Deity.

That position is one that strikes me as dangerously close to Marcionism.

I worked in Saudi Arabia for 4 years. From my personal experience, I think the average Muslim in Saudi Arabia has more respect for Mohammed than the average Christian in Toronto has for Jesus.

Response to quoted text:

Stop calling them Christians.

People in western nations are often (but not always) Christian because their parents told them they were and many were even baptized in their ignorance.

However, the majority are so far removed from Christianity they couldn't tell you with anything resembling Biblical accuracy why Jesus died for their sins, have likely never spoken the name of the Christ outside of "cussing" and have never even once read the Bible.

I've met professing atheists with more knowledge about the Bible and the Christian faith than many people who run around telling people they're Christian every time they are asked what religion they are, as if "Christian" is a birthright and not a religious faith.

Anyone saved out of this lot can probably rightly call themselves a prodigal son such is the attitude about the Faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. They took their inheritance (their freedom), spending it until they were broke, and ended up wallowing in pig excrement and sleeping with pigs. One day they wake up and say to themselves: "What am I doing this for when I have a Father who cares better for even the lowliest of his servants?!" And they go home, hat in hand, swallowing all pride, to beg to be a servant for their Father in exchange for better care than sleeping in pig excrement.

The amazing part is Our Father, God, forgives His children. Even after all they did, they are fully restored to the Father as full heirs - not hired hands.

Response to main thread question:

I am understanding you to be speaking of Muslims the world over since Islam is a religion and a Muslim is specifically a follower of that religion, rather than a nationality.

Muslims are deeply flawed just like any other major religious group's people and it's difficult to say I like "Z" about Muslims *the world over because Muslims in community A. might be more like X in their corner of the world, whereas Muslims in community B. might be more like Y.

The word "Muslim" is not a nationality that something positive could be said about their art or their kindness or or or, because the answer will be different depending upon which Muslims in specific we are discussing. I can say something positive about Afghani Muslims based on experience that would not apply to Syrian Muslims, and vice versa.

So unless you're on a quest to con unsuspecting Christians into praising Islam I'm not sure what direction your looking for here?

I'm not going to be praising Islam (just an FYI).

You are drawing a long bow there...

The Marcionists deny the OT among other things - what leads you to believe I would do such a thing ?
