  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is there anyone there?

It really irritates me that there is nobody in her church community to assist her. One of their own! :(
It's kinda hard when you can't see , have to use a powered wheelchair and don't have much access to things to make plans for the future

I think she needs to befriend someone in her community that can see what is going on and is willing to stick their neck out there to help.
She can call the rectory. Ask if she can get assistance.

What we should do Mitch is to pray for her and to stay sharp enough to pick up on the "Angelica ' s " within our own reach as I assume this isn't an isolated case.

We catholics are so used to big congregations and a impersonal relationship with other laymen that we may commit the sin of neglecting those in need sitting in the very pews that we are sitting.

Stay awake, be sure you have oil on your lamp cause the groom is coming !
Stay awake I urge !

James 2:14-17

What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but had no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one if you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead.

Etc.

This situation brought this Scripture to my mind.

Wow! I am feeling a bit floored by all that you all have said, and. I t hank God that I have s ych wonderful friends here who care so much.

If I can just say that my priest does know about my situation, and this is a. New. Church for me, but he says that people will soon get to know about my blindness and help me. Some do know, but they firget, and. Do not help. They wave at me, ac vording to my hysband and I believe him. He tells them I can't see them. But they still do it. They will not kearn that they need to put their. Face close to mine and say who they are. It is a learning process for them.

I often feel that they don't want me in their groups. I think they think I have nothing to contribute, but I DO.

I have a LOT to give.

Maybe they will learn in time. I understand that the States is more geared to dusability than we are here. Here, they do not care mych and will trample on you. We always have to fight to be heard, even in the Church.

Michie, I don't know wh at you mean by an advocate. I am good at seaking up for myself, but you may mean something different.

I am doing my best, but get ground down sometimes. There just seems to be so much going on and to deal with and jyst the emitional impact of going blind is enough without all the other added things too. I do get depressed sometimes. Underneath though, I know God is there.

An advocate in as far as what I do is making sure those in need are heard and get the proper care and attention. If something is noticed or needed, I make sure it gets done.

I have health issues to that make me feel like I'm fighting an uphill battle. Praying for you--that you feel God's love at this difficult time in your life.

This morning I went to Mass, and my peace was tangilbe almost. I have made a decision that has given me peace, which I may explain. I just felt the most emormous peace this morning, and I have to jyst rest in that.

Hope you are ok Michie

So glad you had a good day. Doing ok here. Feeding my plants and getting 'First Alert' set in motion for my mother in law.
