CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My husband fell badly last night trying to do too much because I can do nothing. Wwe felt hopeless and helpless and he cried. He cried because he cannot oook after me and he doesn't want them to take me away from him. Today the Enablement Team is coming to see if anything can be done to help us cope in our own home. Always, in the past they have said they cannot help. Pleasenpray that this changes. We are at an all time low. My husband has no phtsical strength left because he has postmpolio syndrome and can hardly walk also, and suffers bad fatigue, like me. We have struggled to go on for all this time and my husband never cries, but he didnlast night. We need help. Pleasenpray we get it now. Thankyou

Anhelyna, the reason that we do not get any help is that in actual fact they do not cater AZt ALL for our needs. We do not fit into their categories.
Right - they provide LISTSnof cleaning companies. The cleaning companies you pay 14 pounds a n hour for. We do not have that kind of money. Nyou arrangenit yourself. Social Services don't. The cleaning companies are not trained prperly. Ne of their cleaners put Blossom in hospital with a serious infection because hands were not washed after going to the dustbin, and they did not dry hermpots but put them away wet. You have to get assessed and ACCEPTED by these companies. Social Services do not do that. Mi am allergic to,perfume. We c annot find one that is prepared to come without perfume on. BELIEVE me. Health care workers as well - damned PERFUME even when told. Nyrses, district nyrses. I am FED. uP. It is all TRUae.
Themother thing Social Services do is get you up and dressed but not at a time which you need. I am slow in a morning. I cannot eatbfirst thing becausenof the after effects of the cancer. They refusento do it according to my needs.
They are not there in the evenings.
Lthey provide LISTS of companies that provide food. NONE of them do true diabetic food. My husband is diabetic. Therenis sugar in all of them despite them saying it is diabetic food.
Social Services tell us to get frozen meals. Full of damned. rUBBISH. Plus suggar in. Husband dannot lft ZhOT food out of the damned mucrowave.
We need a full time Carer. We cannot gave that. WE cannot foretell when hubby is going to fall. It can happen ANY time.
We need the house more adapting. They say WE have to,pay for it. We have not got the money and there is a dambed legal case on the house.
Ladd to that the b***** church abd ourmpriest, and se are fit to do oyrselves in. THIS is whyI get like I do. I am at the end.
Whilst we still had church we could keep going because we had God. Now that is gone.
This is our lufe. Maybe God is trying to teach us how it is to be being crucified, bound down and helpless like Jesus was on the cross. It ZhAPPENS. There is NOZt a fix for everything. Some ppldo not get a ficx. They get crycificxion. Terrible pain. Our resurrection is beyond the geave. Not in the here and now, for some ppl. This is how it seems. There is no point in saying why this and why that. It jyst adds to our pain. We too have asked why, reached suicidal kevels then given up asking bec ause it is. Too. Too painful. You get to anpoint where you become inert because your hands are tied. Nyou canbdo nothing any more. Youare. Exhausted and ppl saybdo this do that do the other. We are. Exgaugetde and we. Cant any more.

This , what you have just said above, is what is unbelievable and our American friends do not realise that this sort of help is so patchy.
Care in some areas of the country is excellent , and yet in others it is just non-existent. It does actually vary in Scotland too -Scotland was the first of the UK countries to provide FREE personal care for people who needed it - a long time before England did.
I know that when my Daughter's M-in-Law was ill a Hospital bed was supplied for the house - and carers came in to help. Yes there was a charge - but it wasn't outrageous.

I know Anhelyna. Like I said, Sarah is actually able to run a bed and nreajfast, and COOK a fried breakfast. She lives about twenty miles away.
The problem also is that it is totally unpredictable when exactly we will need help. We could go all day almost, getting through, ourselves though with difficulty. Another day a disastercould happen and we have no one to call on. They refuse to provide even someone whom we can call. Part of the problem is that the hoyse, though fairly large for a semi detached house, is not fully adapted for a wheelchair. Thus we have to walk into the back garden and hubby has to go out on his crutches, which he did last night in a tired state after cooking an omelette for our evening meal, and then fall backwards as he was trying to come in through the patio window, up a step. We need that patio window with a ramp on it, plus widening, to allow a. Wheekchair through. Hubby ha s been told not to. WalkAT AZlL but he HAZs to. We were told to ge Equity zrelease to provide money for the adaptations, but there are legal prob lems with that. This zenablement Team today will most liely tell us the same again. I dount anything will have changed.
We have recently had the front door widened to allow a wheelchair through but we had to pay the £1400 for it. No one helped us. W e had to pay £5000 for my outdoor wheekchair recently too. We do not have an adapted bathroom and we have no more money to adapt it. We are zNOT. Nursing. Home matrrial. We ha ve brains, zest for life and are non 80 years old. I still do r ock 'n roll lol and jig in my chair and wear shocking pink! And write and print poetry books and go to Craft Fairs and sell them for lymphoma.

They will be here in fifteen minutes, and it is two very burly, bullying men. When they came last time they bullied me. There I was, a little tiny woman, with two big bullying blokes. I gave them their marching orders in the end. Little anheluca can be wuite fiery at times! It doesn't seem to get me anywhere though. Rules is rules, after all, and people have to fit rules.

Rules are there to be broken when necessary !! And at times it's essential they are.
After I applied for Raymond's Blue Badge immediately after his diagnosis I had a Local Council OT out to see if I needed anything changing in the house - I had a height adjustable Shower stool supplied [ and it's still here - was not on loan ] and two hand rails fitted for the steps up to the front door outside as on one side there was a steepish drop if you weren't careful. The fact that we don't use the front door is beside the point
