Yeah, The Sims is definitely OK. Great fun too. Once you start playing, you probably won't put it down for hours. I even downloaded some skins and made myself, and it looks alot like me too. There's tons of custom skins and objects and much more on the internet to download to make the game even better too. It's a great game, and I highly suggest you get it. Also, pick up one or maybe even a few of the expansion packs, I have Livin' Large, and it really adds alot to the game.

Sims Online is a horrible game both game waise and morally. Don't get that. The origional version is kewl other than the specified above mentioned about them getting into the shower of going to the bathroom in which case, it's blurred. I dunno what your parents would think of that. There are some misc addons you will want to stay away from then such as the magic addon and the hot date addon. Other than that, its ok. IMO very boring game and loses its fun factor after about 10 minutes. I'm more into games with deep plots. ;)

Sims 2 I would stay away from. It's got everything from Homosexuality to the rest of the above stated.

My mom says that she has talked to people that say that "The Sims" is not sutible for christians, is that true?

Is the sims for Gamecube ok?

There is no such thing as "not suitable for Christians". There is "not suitable for a specific Christian", but beyond that... This is where Christian liberty comes into play; see Romans 14.

Compared to lots of other games, it seems to me like a very good and safe game.

I'm with Seebs.

I play the Sims both on X-box and computer. It is perfectly fine and I love it. It has made me a no different Christian than I am now.

As for like nudity and stuff, everything is blurred out so you can't see anything. So it's fine.

What is cool for the computer versions is that you can download numorous amounts of stuff onto your game. A few sites I've found make Christian objects and Christian skins for the Sim people. You can make churches and all sorts of things. It's really cool.

I say get it. It's a great game. :)

I would highly recommend the PC version of the sims. There isn't anything nasty at all in it, unless of course you go out and download them. I won't mention what my friend has in her Sims game, as I suspect some of you would have to burn your computer monitors should the words appear! :o

It's tame, it's fun, and in Unleashed you can get puppies!! I mean, what isn't there to love? Well, except the children. I dislike having kids, they dont do much except go to school. Would be nice if an expansion game out to fix that.. but until then I wait.

Magic, anything envolving sex, and a few other things.

Hmm...

I hope these help you

1) Current taboos against sex are the fault of a man named Saint Augustine; he did NOT draw his conclusions from scripture. It is also important to point out he was a Eunuch...

2) Jesus said that nothing that goes into you makes you unclean. This isused for food of course, but I belive it applies to what we watch as well

(Er...I hope I am not harmed for posting the following POV)

3) Prophets, like it or not, are mages by almost every definition of the word. They draw upon a fount of power (in this case God) and perform wonders. The frogs could be called a Summon. Parting the water could be called Hydromancery

I hope that helps...
but in the end, it is best not to be att odds with one's parents, unless they do something completely and utterly retarded like my mom did.

And of course playing violent games doesn't affect you badly...to say that video games cause violence is foolish. It is a disgusting lie pushed by fools like Joe Lieberman.

^^^ lol. ...actually... UT:2k4 is amazing...

But the sims is fine. There are things in it that I don't agree with, but you don't have to do them. You can also download mods (like puppy mentioned) for a christian twist on things (these can be found with a simple google search btw).
