Is "The Sims" Ok?

I wasnt calling her herself retarded, just her actions. I love my mother and respect her as a person but her judgement in this manner was questionable. she was a God fearing Jesus loving pious Christian before meeting her current boyfriend. Shes in my prayers so no worries, mate.

As for magic:

I simply do not believe that all magic is evil. I believe some of it is perfectly fine in God's eyes. Or rather, its not what you use, but where you got the ability to use it from, and how you use it.

I mean come on. if I were able to heal wounds I would do it. The ability to heal would logically not come from an evil source and it would be hard to obtain. The darkness isnt stronger but it is supposedly easier and less wholesome, even unpleasant.

if you suddenly found yourself able to heal the injured would you not use your powers for the benefit of your bretheren?

would you really think that a power so selfless and miraculous in nature came from the devil?

I will close my end of the argument by asking this:

This is why I stopped playing the Sims:

I used skins on my family, Elvis for the main guy, Marilyn Monroe for the main woman and Legolass as the layabout 'Joey' Style housemate.

After playing around for a while, I sent Elvis and Legoland down town, I then noticed I couldn't control Elvis, Odd I thought, after playing a bit more I realised I'd sent Elvis and Legless on a date

I never played the game again.

I play it everyday. Its an addiction, worse than drugs, not quite as good as booze. You can even have LESBIAN sex . Yes everbody HLA is available. You can make girls kiss girls and boys kiss boys. You can even make them pregnant which is really weird. It's filled with great options like for example i had a family with 2 kids and I died of old age one day. My wife did'nt work so my kids were ****ed because she was fat and wasted all their money eating food and she was too lazy to do anything plus since she never worked so no retirement money. My kids then had a great idea well let's kill her and collect money from the isurance company. My kids got so much money from their fat mom that they were able to move out to a new bigger home. I recomend this game to everyone except Christian who are to upyight about everything.

Get the PC version and download the Family safe patch from here http://www.hostultra.com/~SimsBasement/family.html

That removes all of the sexual content in the game from expansion packs like hot date and others. There... no worries.

Plus you can make your sims be good and righteous too. You can even make a little church for them and have them go there every sunday, only kiss when they get married. You'll probably need special hacked items for that... (I have an endtable that maxes all moods besides social and fun... those stay at halfway constantly of everyone on the lot)

Yes you can download lots of bad things for the game. But you can also go into Spencers at the mall and look at the naughty stuff there. You can switch channels and the radio and hear bad things. You can switch stations on TV and see immoral things going on as well. There's no escaping it. It's just a part of life. Trying to shelter you by being picky over games is a bit... silly and futile if you ask me. One needs to learn how to deal with such matters appropriately. Running around screaming "Stop that! It's immoral and wrong!" isn't going to lead any unbelievers to Christ, only plant the seeds we don't want planted in them. =P So yeah... tell your parents about patches to remove those things and everything should be okay. You can only put things into your game that you want to. ^^

I never made any use of the crystal ball... and I think I tried the magic lamp once, but I ended up killing my sim in fire. ;; There's a few other bad things you can delete or just not use. *shrug*

Oh yeah, there's a grim reaper, but you can change it to an angel or something else very easily. Mine is a cute anime character. haha.

the Sims is great! i mean, they have like you know kissing and flirting but thats not bad and plus you control whether they do that or not. And a few blocked out nudity parts for like showeing and using the bathroom but thats nothing. You control moslty everything they do.

It's about decision making, you wanna be good, you be good, simple as real life, i just think that the game is stupid, i bought it for one reason, just to design 3D houses, since i love architecture, the game itself has no real point, it's like walk to the kitchen, why not just do it in real life...or lets have my sim take a bath, which is totally awesome, okay, if having a sim take a bath is cool, then what is me walking into the bathroom for real...that like extreme cool...i don't get the point of acting out a life, that's just as easy to have in REAL life, i mean the game only fun if you cheat and get money for free, build a big house, and well have a party, which is full of action that i'd never be able to o, oh wait i have a party tonight...it's a good game, but there's no story, and while the console versions work toward that story line, it's still kinda stupid, why spend time studying on a computer or having a sim study and watch him study, instead of study urself, get smarter, now that's ultmiate reality...
