i know what sin is ... or more to the point the cause of it ... to me it is an end to a means ... God is not bound by our fleshy mind and we as His Son none the less ...
what it means to you isn’t relevant. the actual definition of the word in Greek is.
Scripture defines what sin is:
1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
is what ?
what sin means in Greek is relevant to this discussion.
so put it out there so we can discern it ...
you could look it up for yourself. it’d be more edifying that way.
if i wanted fellowship with a dictionary i would not be here talking to you ...
well, I think something like this is best to look up for oneself. especially since you’d give the definition to me and not the dictionary.
i see the point you are making ... its valid in a wordage or verbiage of sorts ... i have found words when measured bind us by our own definition of them "penned down" which is the measure we give them, and for this reason i wait for your definition, whether you got it from a book or not ...
the fact Jesus was as much flesh and blood as we are still stands ...
it’s not my definition, it’s the actual definition from the Greek.
and I agree Christ is as much flesh and blood as we are. I don’t dispute that at all.
words defined by men are all measured .... only God defines Himself out of which came every language spoken ... in this i find the pure language unmeasurable ...
and since the divinely inspired New Testament was written in Greek, God used that language for a reason.
no doubt ... so in a few words what is sin to you ... and seeing we have agreed Jesus was born of flesh and blood with all its frailties ... as we are ... and therefor innocent of any attached sin or in other words born without sin can we then agree sin is something separate from our true identity as sons of God ...
sin is not subjective like that. it actually has a definition in Greek which is how it should be defined.
so define it in your own words according to what is written ...
If he gives you the answer, you will ultimately dismiss it as his opinion. If you look it up and educate yourself then to disagree you have to reject your own informed understanding. With the latter, you may actually come away with a better understanding which is much more unlikely with the former.so define it in your own words according to what is written ...
