No one has disputed that. The question is not does God forgive. However, repentance must precede forgiveness. Further, there is a cleansing that occurs after forgiveness is given to change us so that we no longer are what we were.
1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
For you to imply that He forgives but does not cleanse us from the sin is a lie (if that is your implication).
