You've got it half right. The Ten Commandments were the Old Covenant kept inside the Ark of the Covenant. But all the peripheral laws pertained to the Ten Commandments. And when Christ inaugurated the New Covenant on the cross, all of the Old expired.Not at all Dave,
The scriptures show you are only telling half the story and you do not know what the OLD COVENANT is. If you do not know what the OLD COVENANT is how can you understand what the NEW COVENANT is about?
The ARK of the COVENANT did indeed contain what the OLD COVENANT was. Let's have a look and see what it contained.

CONCLUSION: The ARK [House of the COVENANT] held God's 10 Commandments [2x tables of stone] and the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT (in the side of the ark). Together these made up the OLD COVENANT.

Those not forgiven of their sins are not under the law either. It was for the Jews and Christ abolished it on the cross. The heathen have the law in their hearts which is enough to condemn them.Indeed, how are you under the law when you have been forgiven from your sins?

No, but they know the difference between love and hate. Hate can keep the Ten Commandments any day. But love does not need them.Are you sure? Those who are born again do not knowingly continue to break God's Law

As to your post above? No one is under the Law when they have been forgiven for their sins. Only those who break God's LAW are under it as they stand guilty before God of sin.
