if peter had been humbled by some failures
previous to the denial of Jesus,
perhaps he would have said,
'yes, Lord, I have proven to be weak enough
to fail you, please help my weakness.'
but..
he denied he would ever deny the Lord,
and was proven to be wrong...
that would not make the sin right...
he still knew it was sin...
it is not the ones who are aware of their
weakness, and perhaps their occasional fall
that are of concern,
it is the ones that would have said,
'sure, others will deny you too,
it must be all right to do so...'
those are the wrong ones
