You couldn't be more wrong. I have nothing against Mormons. They are following a false religion and I do care about that. A real Christian would show a friend the way to God instead of leading them down a path of danger. It's okay to warn people about taking the wrong path. IMO, it's the loving thing to do.Annabel Lee said:Here on CF, what is permitted and encouraged is the bashing and attacking of the Mormon Christians.

What makes you think you have eternal life?Ammon said:With the realization on your parts that we are Christians, that we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior and the ONLY way to the Father, and that, therefore, according to your beliefs, we are saved.

You aren't bugging me. You sound like a Christian. If you are a Christian, why have you been pretending to be a LDS? Why do you make covenants in the LDS temple? Why do you wear temple garments?Ammon said:According to your beliefs, when one accepts Jesus Christ as his or her personal Savior, accepts the fact that only through Him can we return to the Father, and accepts that Jesus Christ, the Divine Son of God, paid the price for one's sin, one is saved. I believe all of that. Therefore, according to your beliefs, I am saved. We want you to acknowledge that. In fact, if you all did so, I would go away and stop bugging you.![]()

First, tell me why you participate in temple ordinances. You could spend that time serving God instead. What is the purpose of the secret handshakes, secret names, washings, annointings?Ammon said:Let us assume, arguendo, that all that Temple stuff is just incorrect. I've still accepted Jesus as my Savior. Won't He be merciful upon me for doing things that, according to orthodox Christian belief, mean, essentially, nothing? In other words, where I have accepted Christ, and am saved, participating in these other activities can't hurt. Can it? Jesus is, after all, merciful and full of grace.
Who is Jesus to you? Is He a separate and Distinct God named Jehovah?Ammon said:With the realization on your parts that we are Christians, that we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior and the ONLY way to the Father, and that, therefore, according to your beliefs, we are saved.

What about your "one true church"?Let us assume, arguendo, that all that Temple stuff is just incorrect. I've still accepted Jesus as my Savior. So you want us to deny what the Bible teaches and turn a blind eye to the truth of God? Sorry, no can do.Ammon said:With the realization on your parts that we are Christians, that we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior and the ONLY way to the Father, and that, therefore, according to your beliefs, we are saved.

LDS temple rituals don't mean "nothing", they mean that you are choosing to follow rituals that are not biblical and therefore not of God. If you are taking part in a "religious" ritual that is not of God, then it is of Satan and that is a very dangerous thing to be a part of.Ammon said:Let us assume, arguendo, that all that Temple stuff is just incorrect. Hi there!calgal said:So Serapha:
How DO you want to see the Mormons approached? I find the idea of a friendly guide to the gates of hell to be a really horrid idea and would prefer to not have to deal with cries of "Persecuuuution" every time that a point is disagreed with. But then again, I spent time wearing magic undies and answering to the false name Naomi so my perspective is a bit different.
We already know what goes on in the temple. You do not need a building made with hands to focus on God and things spiritual. Don't you do that in your ward buildings?Ammon said:I go to the Temple to improve my relationship with God the Father and Jesus Christ. The Temple is a quiet place, without Wordly distractions, where I can focus on things spiritual. I go to the mountains for the same purposes. As to the ordinances in the Temple, we believe that they are an outward expression of our acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Savior; they are also expressions in which we make promises to obey His law and learn more about Him. These promises help us follow His path for they impress upon us the Sacredness of Him and His Word. The ordinances all have a spiritual purpose, at least they do to me, and each one helps me focus on the Savior.
