Because the protestant mentality is simply what that verse states. Most protestants think if they put their hands in the air and say 'Jesus' that there immediatly saved. They treat Jesus as simply 'fire insurance".
Is that so? And you actually believe that "most protestants" think that way? Well, I'll go ahead and tell you, you're wrong.

Hitler was not a Christian.

Because the protestant mentality is simply what that verse states. Most protestants think if they put their hands in the air and say 'Jesus' that there immediatly saved. They treat Jesus as simply 'fire insurance".Without doing any good works and good deeds(fruits). It gives the feeling that you can keep on sinning because jesus will save you anyway. It isnt the right mentality and protestants need to get out of it. 'Faith without good works is dead'- James.
sweetheart, I take offense to that. I as a protestant do NOT for one minute believe how you just said all that. NOT at all. If others do,t hat is THEIR problem..but don't know who left you to judge. Catholics think only their good works will get them there. NOT true at all either.

Hitler is in hell. How do I know this? Look at his life! If you believe he's in Heaven, tell me one good Christian thing he did while he was alive to back up your theory....

By your fruit you will know them...
I don't know about you guys but killing millions of people, and then committing suicide instead of being a man and facing trial for your crimes isn't a very Christian thing to do. He MAY have had one opportunity before he died, as the poison was taking over his body, and that we'll not know till we ourselves die, but as it is I am content with thinking that Hitler died twice.

What about the concept that God is a God of Justice? Will a just judge sentence someone who's committed a traffic violation to 20 years in the slammer? I admit that sin=death, but does every sin equal the same kind of death? This is one reason I believe in the seven levels of Hell. If God is as just (and that's not even including merciful) as we claim he is then he's going to fight the punishment with the crime.

If you're going to accept Dante's fiction as theology then at least get it right, there are 9 levels of hell. God is not just, if he were then we'd all go to hell. There would have been no savior and no chance for salvation. Declaring someone to be in hell would be a major violation of what Jesus taught, we are not to condemn others.
If God told Hitler that after reviewing the circumstances of his life he was going to grant him mercy would you stand up and object?

I could tell you one thing he never did: accepted Christ. And that's what he would need, not Christian works.
