Right. Meeting the Lord makes all the difference. I used to hear people talk about meeting Him, before I got saved, and didn't know what it meant. Until I met the Lord for myself. There was a distinct experience, a definite loudness, although I didn't really know how to describe it in such terms back then.Hey i think the same way, even used the slap in the face example as well, when God touches you in that way there is not denying it.
I don't know how you can live a bible only gospel, reminds me of that pastor who after years of preaching he abandoned the gospel, he obviously didn't get touched by God.
Meaning, I take it, no association with any Christian congregation. Sectarianism would be preferable to that IMO.Not necessarily. Let me rephrase the question with examples. Is bible alone, without Catholicism, bad? Or how about without any other denomination?
Bible only, without sectarianism, is this bad?
After reading my posts thats your conclusion? Didnt i mention God writing on our hearts? I have joy inside as well.![]()
It should be God writing on our hearts.
But is it God? Or mans tradition?
A couple of verses worth mentioning here. John 10:27 isn't the only verse. Three times Hebrews alluded to hearing God's voice 'Today' suggesting that 'Today' is eternal( Heb 3:7, 15; 4:7).So do you hear more than one person (yourself) speaking in your head?
I dont follow such things. Many will say they did miracles in Jesus name but will be rejected as law breakers who didnt heed the commands of Christ. If you mean the gifts because is the topic then the only experience i have is a preacher that told me everything i was thinking several times and things about myself (things in my interior), if that doesn't show that he had discerment of spirits or discerment in the holy spirit then i can't help you, he also knew things about me and my family (prophecy) that he had no way to know. It was very impressive.
Which of these gifts do you claim are no longer in operation? (name all that apply)I think we can suspect insanity in many who claim the gift. With others it's just a wild imagination they have not learned to control.
Those scriptures dont necessarily refer to voices in our head.A couple of verses worth mentioning here. John 10:27 isn't the only verse. Three times Hebrews alluded to hearing God's voice 'Today' suggesting that 'Today' is eternal( Heb 3:7, 15; 4:7).
Another verse, often overlooked, is Eph 4:21, "If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus." What do the commentators say about this verse?
Vincent’s Word Studies commented on Eph 4:21, "Him is emphatic…it was Him that ye heard. Compare Jn 10:27."
Almost verbatim The Jamieson, Fausset, Brown Commentary on Eph 4:21 stated, "The Him‘ is emphatic: ‗heard Himself,‘ not merely heard about him."
The People’s New Testament Commentary on 4:21 finds here no "doubt that they had heard and been taught by Christ."
"John Wesley read 4:21 as "heard Him teaching you inwardly by his Spirit."
The Matthew Henry Commentary on 4:21 accepts this translation,"have been taught by him, inwardly and effectually by his Spirit."
According to Charles Hodge‘s Commentary on Ephesians at 4:21, " it does not mean to hear about him but rather recalls what it means ―to hear the voice of God or Christ."
I dont follow such things. Many will say they did miracles in Jesus name but will be rejected as law breakers who didnt heed the commands of Christ.
