Respectfully, I have some questions about Wiccan. I will pose these with a few assumptions so that I am able to word my question properly. Please forgive me if I have made an incorrect statement about Wiccan, I am not trying to falsely depict your beliefs.
Please, gently correct me if I am wrong. My questions do not intend to disrespect you.
As I understand it, Wicca is not, or perhaps it is not yet standardized. That is, different people can hold some beliefs that define what is and what is not Wicca.
I assume that there are things that Wiccans would not consider to be Wicca.
If you (Wiccans collectively) have no set of standards for what exactly is Wicca and what is not, how can you define Wicca (other than in some general terms)?
Christianity, Judism, Islam, (for example), each have defined rules of their respective faiths. Because of this, each faith has established of conduct for practicing their faith, defined rules of what is required my man to practice their faiths both to God, and to Man. We have mechanisms for transgressions, depending on faith, forgiveness or conduct which is not forgiven, and the path to follow to be forgiven.
People cannot be impartial judges of themselves. To define us, we need an external judge. The concept of 'sin' is a definition, rules, law, of what is wrong. As I understand it, you judge yourselves for what is an absolute standard. That is a general concept but not specifics. (How can you know absolute truth if you have no concept of sin, based on absolute rules. True, laws and rules must be interpreted, just as justice must be interpreted. If you have no rules (except, perhaps, a few), rather it is (largely) self
interpreted, how can you call iit a religion as opposed to a generalization?
Wiccan's here on this thread had posted that in Wicca, some Wiccans practice 'witchcraft', and some do not. It had been said that you do not have to be a 'witch'
(or are 'witches' - respectfully, 'witch' and 'witchcraft' were your words). I am not calling you a Witch, not because Witch is not in my faith, Christianity, but rather, because I have no idea of what you mean by 'Witch', or 'Witchcraft'. For all that I know, you might mean that a Witch (or Witchcraft) could me (only) chewing gum, and calling gum chewing 'Witchcraft'. I suppose that someone might want to call gum chewing 'witchcraft', and by their chewing gum, they may call themselves a 'Witch'. If you want to go around deluding yourself in to believing that chewing gum was 'Wichcraft'. If I for example, waved my finger over my trash can and had said "abra cadabra, you are now a cow", I would know that I was not serious, was not a male Witch, nor was I thinking about Wicca / Witchraft (or whatever).
