You have to understand Biology and you have to know what a biodiverse ecosystem is. I study Science and then I look to see if there is any contradiction with the Bible and there are NOT any contradictions. You nor anyone else has ever shown me a contradiction. I am ready to discuss this with anyone. If Neil Degrasse Tyson wants to have a conversation about black holes and singularities I will use that as an opportunity to teach him about God.

There are two words we are looking at. One is erthos for the earth. The other word is Adamah for Eden. The Bible does not say the whole earth was flooded on the day of Noah. We do know that Eden was flooded and it was a paradise that Adam had on the Ark. There were not any kangaroos, and there were not any hippos. He had farm animals, Goats, sheep and so on. David in the Bible was a shepherd. Between Cain and Able one handled the animals and the other one grew the food and ate the plants. This is what we call a food producer.

Science helps us to understand the Bible and there simply is no conflict and there is no contradiction. One resource we have is the google space photos. That helps us to better understand exactly where Eden is and was. Also, we can look at elevation maps to see where the low ground that got flooded. It was actually called a flood plane. Today when you buy a house you are supposed to check if the house is on a flood plane. If it is the insurance company is smart enough not to give you flood insurance or charge you a premium price.

People were laughing at Noah and it ended up costing them their life. We are told that today it is as it was in the days of Noah. People that do not take Noah's warning seriously will have a high price to pay. Matthew 24 37 "As the days of Noah were, so will be the coming of the Son of Man." There is a lot of disaster in this world. People lose their houses and whole towns have been wiped off the map. They lose everything they have.

Actually, it is not that big of a deal. In the army, all you have is a duffel bag. I lived a time of my life when all I had was what I could fit in a backpack and carry on my back. I was not unhappy in any way that I did not have more than what I could carry with me. Even we had a full-pack forced march where we have to carry a full pack for 15 miles.

They use to call it continental drift but now they call it plate tectonics. This is the reason California is in a constant state of disaster. This is why we have rocky mountains. But whoever or whatever they were, they were destroyed in the flood. They are no more. You can look for them but you will not be able to find them. The warning is for people that use their imagination for evil and not good. period of about 8000 years.
About 50% of large mammals died out.
It is not classified a mass extinction.
