Is a lesser or limited Theosis possible to achieve while in Hell (after Last Judgment)?

So, right now, we're studying Sufism in my Asian Philosophy course - and in it, we've discussed Ibn al'Arabi, an Islamic Mystic Scholar, who argues an interesting take on Origenism - that Hell is indeed permanent, and there is no escape from the eternal fires of hell. However, he argues that the suffering one personally experiences from the fires aren't permanent, in that a person will eventually get used to the suffering and the recognition of the evils they have committed, which the fires entail, and although it is not possible to achieve Heaven or Bliss, in some form it is possible to achieve Union with God through acclimation to Hellfire and the evils one has committed.

So, this leads me to ask the question: Is it possible to achieve some form of Union of God, although the Eternal Fires of Hell are indeed permanent?

He's wrong.

Hell is the ultimate separation from God.

Some have put forth the hope that some suffering (not in hell itself after the final judgement that I'm aware of) might be allowed by God because it is ultimately didactic. But ... I think that's a long way from saying one can make peace not only with hell/suffering but achieve union with God in and during and through the agency of such suffering. I would stay far away from such kinds of speculation outside of Christianity.

I posted this in another thread, but it is interesting that first century judaism grappled with the same issue:First Century Jewish Beliefs About “Purgatory”

Short answer is that Hell and Heaven are both experiences of God, particularly His Light. There is no repentance after death, but God may answer prayers outside time and give relief. There are examples of people "prayed out of Hell" according to tradition, but tradition is silent over whether this was irrespective to life decisions made before death and how those prayers after their death were answered.
