'Cause it's all about America!

Here we are in a Country that was founded by Christians. A society that even wrote the Christian values system into the framework of our government. A country that from the beginning has held a motto, "In God We Trust", and you look at the state this country is in and you tell me, "I guess we do the best we can". Shall we talk about millions of abortions, or homosexuality running ramped and being taught in schools to our children, or the horrifying decay of general morality.

I mean, all we had to do was hold onto something others died to give us, and we can't even do that.

I'm not sure what you mean, 'cause you're talking nonsense.

What is true relgion that is pure and undefiled before the Lord? According to St. James it consists of visiting orphans and widows in their affliction and keeping oneself unstained from the world.

I see no mention of dinosaurs.

I am so pleased, Xenia, to finally encounter a post from someone who is prepared to fully embrace the Word of God without compromise. There is no doubt that secularists (who surely are unwittingly doing the work of the Devil) have done much to undermine the authority of the Word in the minds of the general public.

Furthermore, for as long as science fails to take into account the teachings of the Bible and the unquestionable facts therein laid out, we will continue to be fed ungodly false accounts of dinosaurs, evolution and other absurd theories and postulations that take us further from the Word. I suppose I have a particular bee in my bonnet about science when I look at some of the most unholy things currently going on, such as cloning and stem cell research.

I'm sorry, I can tell you mean well, but that is just a cop-out. We Christian's have been using that excuse forever. We will never be perfect like Christ so basically, "I'll do the best I can but don't expect much", becomes our motto.

Again, It would be ludicrous to expect perfection from one another, we all know that is impossible, but the more we say we can't be perfect the more we just excuse our own behavior. Why not say, "we can do anything through Christ Jesus".

We must do the best He can! In fact, if it helps, rather then compare yourself to Christ, compare yourself and the rest of us to those involved in the first Church, apples for apples. If you compare today’s Christians with the first Christians, how can you say,” I guess we do the best we can"? They were human also, they had just as many of the same hang ups and weaknesses that we do, in fact they had one other small problem that we American Christian's don't have, they were getting killed because they would not stop trying to be a better Christian.

I am sorry, WE ARE NOT DOING THE BEST WE CAN! NOT EVEN CLOSE!

Is it hard? Yes! In some cases, is it almost impossible? Yes! With the power of Christ and Him working through one another can we get the job done? MOST ASSUREDLY, YES!!!

We must stop accepting mediocre Christianity from one another!!! We must pray for one another!! Support one another!! Hold one another accountable for their witness to the lost!!! We must not allow hypocrisy to run ramped among our brethren!! We must continue to be a lighthouse in our country so our country can be a lighthouse for the world!!!

If we do not step up to the plate now, we will severely regret it. Already you can see The Hand of God pulling away from our shores. His wonderful blessing over this country is being removed. We must not allow that to happen. If not for our own sake then for the sake of our children, and their children and so forth.

We must not tell ourselves that this is just the end times and this is just the way it has got to be. We don't know that! Nobody knows that, not even the Son of God! For all we know, this country could lose Our Father's Hand of protection and we could live under terrene for 5 thousand more years before Christ comes again. And if you don't think that is possible ask a Jew for a history lesson or better yet, blow off the cob webs and crack open the old testament and see for yourself.

Enough is enough!! It is time to change the direction of this ship we call America !!! I believe this is our time. Our Father is giving us all one more chance before His judgment pours out. If we don't take advantage of it, shame on us, we deserve what we get.

But what of our children? You look into those innocent little eyes and envision their future living in a country without God's favor, and you tell them, we did the best we could.
Why don't you tell me how you really feel?I'm curious, what are you doing?

I'm assuming that your first question was sarcasm, but the second question makes me wonder if my assumption is wrong. I find it hard to believe that you don't know what I am trying to do. If you are asking me a serious question please elaborate, if you are just being sarcastic, then thanks for the laugh.

I'm especially concerned about kangaroos. They aren't in the Bible, yet they insist on their hop-hop-hopping in the bush. Fiendish, ungodly, SATANIC creatures!

I'll bet they all live the homosexual lifestyle, too. That's what happens when you're a creature not mentioned in the Bible!

Now that I think about it, Australia isn't mentioned in the Bible, either! It's an entire continent of ungodliness and KANGAROOS!

I'd concentrate on the unbiblical kangaroo problem.

Very true.

I have been looking for the ever so Biblical Leviathan too so that it can re-emerge and purge those ungodly Australians of their sinful ways. A big whish of its tail that will drench that whole unbiblical island and rid the world of homosexual kangaroos.

I'd concentrate on the unbiblical kangaroo problem.

Now this is silly. I do not deny the existence of something simply because it does not appear in the Bible. However, I do deny the verity of scientific claims which flagrantly contradict the passages in the Bible. The Bible explicitly tells us how the world was created in 7 days. It also tells us how mankind was created. Not only are dinosaurs and the so-called evolution of man not mentioned in the Bible, but they are in flagrant contradiction to the facts stated in Genesis.

If some Kangaroos do engage in homosexual activity, that is because they are mere beasts and do not know better. Man, on the other hand, has no excuse for engaging in such beastly behaviour.

Again, the existence of Australia does not contradict anything we are told in the Bible, even though it itself is not mentioned. No doubt, the reason it was not mentioned was that the Lord did not think it warranted much attention at the time.

Absolutely not! I wouldn't want more friends if it causes me to compromise what the bible teaches. Jesus is all I need.

If someone held a gun to your head and asked you to be more agreeable with them that Christ is not real, or die what would you do?

Maybe, by chance, perhaps, this is just a niggleing thought mind you but possibly because

there have been thousands of bones discovered and the fossil record shows they existed.

All that could be wrong though you are correct.

I have already explained my position on that in another thread, but if you missed it, I'm happy to repeat it here:

As far as dinosaurs are concerned, nowhere in the Bible does it mention the earth being overrun with these tacky and ridiculously far-fetched 1950s B Movie monsters. The skies were devoid of Pterosaurs. Nowhere did the landscape shudder to the giant footsteps of a Brontosaurus or Stegosaurus. Not one of God’s animals had to flee in terror from the terrifying jaws of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. In not one of the earth’s four corners did Godzilla or King Kong rampage through the land.

Unfortunately, there are those who would seek to undermine the integrity of the Bible, by digging up unusually-shaped rocks from the earth and passing them off as ‘Dinosaur bones’. I believe such rocks may have been planted by Satan. Nevertheless, atheists will sometimes go to extraordinary lengths to perpetuate their myths and falsehoods in a desperately misguided attempt to promote their marginalized secular dogma. So, it is not uncommon for the bones of Elephants, Giraffes, Rhinoceroses and Crocodiles to be mixed up and combined with ancient rock sculptures and even old Hollywood props to produce fake Dinosaur skeletons which are then put on prominent display in our Science Museums and passed off for fact. What makes all of this particularly objectionable is that they insist on indoctrinating our children with this rubbish; poisoning young impressionable minds and turning them from the Word of Truth.

Wow I would love to meet the person who came up with "creating" the dinosaurs, it surely was an amazing gift of creativity that conjured up these mystical creatures.

I like this quote from Dennis Waitley.

I tell my kids to clean their rooms -- they look at my garage.
I tell them to be honest -- I have a radar jammer in the car and my tax return is questionable.
I tell them not to drink -- they check my eyes and smell my breath.

You can never motivate anyone by TELLING them how to live. They see how you treat your family, neighbors and spouse. They don't just listen to your words, they watch you!

I am a Craftsman. I went outside my home one day to go to work. My truck was gone. Stolen. My livlihood, tools, materials and transportation all missing -- without a trace.

My pastor came to our home with a half-eaten quiche leftover from a luncheon earlier that day. He gave my shoulder a squeeze and said that he would be praying for us.

My wife was walking to work when one of my clients stopped her on the street. "I heard what happened to Steve's truck. Would the two of you come over for dinner tonight?" She accepted.

It just so happens that this client was gay. He and his lover had been customers of mine for a couple of years. I had been praying for them as long as I had known them.

When my wife & I showed up for dinner, we had the best meal, on the best china, with the best silverware, and the best wine. While we were eating dessert (also the best), these men looked at me and made me offers that left me speechless: "I can take the bus to work, why don't you use my car. . ." "Do you need any work? I need some things done around here . . ." "There are some of my tools in the shed. Why don't you help yourself whenever . . ."

To this day, my wife and I still get teary-eyed thinking of that night. The two homosexual men -- you know, the type of men that are "an abomination . . ." -- were more Christ-like than my own pastor!

Mendown -- I get your point. And I agree with you. I am not ashamed to be a follower of Christ, but I am ashamed, at times, to call myself a Christian. Jesus means more to me than I can describe. My "brothers and sisters in Christ" are sometimes the farthest thing from Christ I could ever find.
