In the Orthodox Church, all that have been baptized and are present/brought to the chalice. How many infants are receiving communion?
Oh, I agree... but I want someone that is a believer in the idea that all infants must be baptized to tell me what they think is going to happen if this is not done, and the kid dies...Heaven for where else?
Many want to cause false stress to the true believers
So, infants are taking part in the communion? In the Orthodox Church, all that have been baptized and are present/brought to the chalice.
Absolutely. Matthew 19:14So, infants are taking part in the communion?
Forgive me for my ignorance, but, I thought that you could not take the Eucharist unless you were confirmed.Absolutely. Matthew 19:14
You are pointing to the Jews crossing sea (which is foreshadow baptism) as proof og infant baptism.....It's quite Biblical.
Read 1 Cor. 10, which shows the Jewish pre-figuring of infant baptism and communion.
"They ALL were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and they ALL ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank of the rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ."
Is there a definition of "all" that would exclude the little ones?
You could be thinking of Roman Catholics or possibly some other group.Forgive me for my ignorance, but, I thought that you could not take the Eucharist unless you were confirmed.
Had no idea that people were bringing infants up to partake.... interesting.

No takers yet.
I would say that we can only speak to those who are baptized and full participants in the faith. As it applies to those who are not; it's the same as with adults - I don't know....I want someone that is a believer in the idea that all infants must be baptized to tell me what they think is going to happen if this is not done, and the kid dies...
If you admit it is a purely human tradition that has no Biblical weight and you can plainly see it causes unneeded division how can you justify continuing itYes, Gregory?

In supporting the doctrine that divides and causes burdens to true believers you take part in the effects of such doctrine you promote what is to some a stumbling block and i pray you read what the NT says on thatContinuing... what? I don't baptize anyone.
Actually, if you read my post, I have admitted to ignorance... not an attitude. You could be thinking of Roman Catholics or possibly some other group.
A minor semantic quibble, we receive the Eucharist, we don't "take" it. Again, that's minor but it speaks to an attitude.
So, as in my example, the child is in diapers and not even solid food... maybe aware of objects within two feet of it's face.....It depends if the kid's saved or not. Baptism isn't absolutely necessary for salvation.

IMO not saved by the biblical... Belief in the Name of Christ. Faith in Christs ability to save. Belief in Christs life, death and resurrection. Knowledge of their sin and need for salvation...
So.... what happens to them?
I thought post 324 was unambiguous.Actually, if you read my post, I have admitted to ignorance... not an attitude.
You still have not confirmed.. do infants receive the Eucharist?
So, you don't know what happens to an infant, if the parents don't baptize it? Or, in my case, if we dedicated our child or rather, dedicated our life to raising the child in the ways of Christ....I would say that we can only speak to those who are baptized and full participants in the faith. As it applies to those who are not; it's the same as with adults - I don't know.
