• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Being first then is free and second to infinity is a problem. Sounds like that train of thought is a problem, even for the first. If we have life then we must have depth of thought and random ideas. Where is it that life makes copies and not like the life as it was in the origin? Think about it. Are we copies or originals. Does DNA union in the womb produce a copy or an original? In us in our lives after birth, DNA can only make copies till we lose info and have the DNA death _errors.

Tell me that my five year son is a copy and I will tell you that you haven't met him and that you must come to the surface to breathe air like the rest of us, sooner or later. My son has more energy in his imagination coming out than is being put into him. He is a well-spring of ideas coming from an unknown source.

What happens in the whom is a recombination of pre-existing information, albeit unique.
The absence of chance does not negate the presence of choice.
There is no chance.
With all due respect to your wonderful son, no effect can transcend its cause.
Human beings do not have intellectual conceptions, we have intellectual perceptions.

We have conceptions from perceptions.

All ideas are eternally present, in the mind of God.
We cannot conceive of a new idea.

We perceive concepts, but we don't have intellectual conceptions.

The difference between our ideas and God's ideas is that we are not the first ones to have our ideas.

Well I was thinking about this and wonder that when a child is indoctrinated, does that child lose the will to have a real imagination, dream etc. But really im just asking this as a question, when children are taught that magic is evil and you should never thing about it, would not that make the childs imagination less......imagative?

Please your options.

Indoctrination is the formation of principles in children. Hippies have somehow attached a sinister concept to the word, but all education involves tons of subsuming ones intellect in order to get to the frontiers of knowledge.

Unless, you think we should merely throw kids outside and wait for them to develop empiricism; then in high school, drop a pile of dirt on their lap and expect them to derive the periodic table, and finally to hope they learn not to steal and brutalize the weaker members of their cohort for profit or fun.

Indoctrination involves teaching the acceptable answer. Education involves teaching how to find the correct answer. To pass the test you have to give the acceptable answer. Notice that passing the test may or may not involve the correct answer.

So if you want to be successful, pay attention to your indoctrination, but don't neglect your education.

Sure we can.

We do have them.
