There are a lot of good, understanding people on here. There are also a lot of rude, arrogant, egotistic, hypocritcal morons. I speak of the two people who have annoyed me in particular, the first one accusing me of being a "troll" (I wasn't aware that mentioning satan's dreaded name made me a troll) and the second one who responded "i'm so frikin good looking but you don't hear me whining about it. Be a man". It is hypocrites like the above two that fill me with hatred for the Christian religion. Why do people like that come onto these forums? Why do people like that call themselves Christians?

Does anyone else think I'm a troll for seeking help when I need it? If so, please feel free to say so.

Stop "trying to be a Christian". The character of a Christian naturally manifests itself as your relationship with Jesus matures.

Seek to be a friend of Jesus'. Talk to him as if he were standing right in front of you. Tell him you don't trust him....that you think he's not for real...etc., but ask him to help you be willing to remain his friend.

Don't "try" to be anything. Be yourself.

Yes, I'd quite like to know that myself. I find it extremely insulting that someone who knows nothing about me or what I have been through comes on here and tells me to "be a man".

I'm pretty new & fresh in my Christian faith (actually serching Christ and trying to walk the walk), but I've known it is the truth for a long time. Now I'm learning more about Christ everyday and I love it.
But I took a long time to come around, to give myself up.
I walked down that dark, dark road, and ultimately I had to walk through the darkness to find my TRUE faith in Christ.
But brother I warn you, Satan is real & he is oh so tricky, indulging in our animalistic urges might bring some type of immediate pleasure, but it is ultimately empty. I used to justify my sins by this same arguement, but I was just trying to console myself.

anyways you aren't wanting to hear any of this...
Maybe some people need to see and experience the darkness, to fully believe in redemption through Christ and what that means.
I only pray that if you stray down that dark path you won't stray too far...
Remember you can always turn back.

If you do turn back to Christ may I suggest the books
"Blue Like Jazz"-by Donald Miller & "Mere Christianity"-by C.S.Lewis...
these books really helped put a fire in my faith.

But Marco, you cannot come "back to God" if you were never with Him in the first place !

Did you *ever* receive His Spirit as detailed in the scriptures ?

Just because one can speak in tongues doesn't mean that someone who can't does not have the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:4-6)

I was with God, I have felt God many many times in me. Probably closer to God than most.

Look, they have replaced God's independant confirmation with man's idea.

People call themselves or other people “christians”, but how can they make this judgement ?

God says:- “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it ?” (Jeremiah 17v9)

... therefore he *must* bare independent witness, the apostles certainly waited for this:-

“God, which knows the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us” (Acts 15v8 referring to the speaking in tongues with Gentile and Jew in Acts 10 & 2).

The new tongue signifies the new heart, God's sign to those *entering* the New Covenant, just like he gave a specific sign for previopus covenants (Gen.9v12-15, 17v11), and just like we *sign* a contract when we want it to be in force.

well it looks like that you want to explore religions well i wouldnt do that do what i was planning on doing (i didnt make it really far before i found the denomination for me) explore denominations and while youre exploreing you might find a denomination that you like, like i did

After praying for you and your situation, I wanted to encourage you to do your own thing. Try all the other philosophies, cults and occults. Study them hard. Its obvious that Christianity isn't working for you, so maybe the answer is outside Christ's organization.

While praying for you, I didn't get a "read" on anything. Its as if God is handing you over to your selfish desires -- your sin. I don't think you want me to spell them all out here on the open thread. If you want to talk about this with me, you can PM me.

I'm sick of being a Christian. It isn't working for me. I treat people around me like crap and it's because I'm not happy within myself. I have tried being God's child and it's not working out for me. I am too opinionated, too arrogant and too different. Humans are naturally selfish creatures and that's what I am. I have a sad pathetic life, and it's all thanks to being a child of God, he is making me very miserable.

I believe Satanism may be the religion for me afterall. God is proving this to me. I asked for answers and I'm getting them.

I have messed up so many times in my walk with the Lord but I will keep serving him anyway. Man I have been selfish and arrogant at times in my life too even after I came to the Lord.

While I do not know your background I do know this that if you really have to turned your life over to Christ--he will make a way for you.

The Book Of Matthew talks about people and if they really do receive the Word Of God or just take it lightly. Which one are you in.

I do not know your heart nor am I the judge of your heart but I will tell you this as best as I can in Christian love. Sin is not going to enter the kingdom of God. You can make choices my friend but you can not choose the consequences of those choices.


I have walked with the Lord 24 years now and yes I get very discouraged at times and frustrated with myself--but you know what--I am not going to give into the devils lies.

Christian sanctification--(Becoming Holy like the Lord) is a lifelong process which we all have to go through and yes we have the Lord's help to do that.

It is not always an instant thing becasue that is the way this ungodly world thinks things should be.

So you have a choice to continue on with the Lord or with the lies of the devil. The Lord will give you strength my friend.

Peter told Jesus and said something like this: Lord where would we go becasue you have the words of eternal life.

So if you really made a true commitment to Christ then there are believers here to encourage you and help you. Hey we all struggle with our fleshly desires.

Go your own way if you want to. Scripture talks about people being handed over to Satan for a time, and maybe that's what needs to happen in your case.

I will tell you this, though. You will never find eternal happiness by serving yourself. There is nothing that you can do that will satisfy you or give you peace. That peace is only found in the Lord.

The reason that you're unhappy now is because you're serving yourself. Even if you were trying to serve God, you can't do it on your own. You need to confess your sins and accept Jesus into your heart. That is the only way you will find eternal joy; the only way you can find true peace and happiness.
