When you were little, what did you dream of being when you grew up?

Just what I grew up to be, a nurse - I never even considered anything else. Now that I'm nearing 50, I'm considering other possibilities. My current dream job - working in a Hallmark store - who would ever be unpleasant in a Hallmark store???

:D I know what you mean. Working with the general public can be occasionally unpleasant. But, I've worked retail...and you would be surprised what people will get in a snit over. :D

God bless you Edie. :)

That's why I think a Hallmark store is the one place I could do retail. Oh, and I hear you re: your comment about what folks get in a snit over.

Customer service is of major importance to me at work - I hold myself to a high standard. But some days with some people - it takes everything I have. God's grace has gotten me through some pretty difficult situations when dealing with the public.

God bless,
Your sister in Christ,

Customer service is a big part of nursing. What made you stop nursing and get a job working in a Hallmark store?

I'm sorry - guess I wasn't clear. I'm half way through my 29th year of nursing. My priority in nursing is to provide quality care - and one way to do that is through customer service (something at which I believe I excel). I love my docs, my co-workers and my patients. However, nursing is an extremely stressful job - for a variety of reasons. It is so very easy to take everything to heart and carry the patient's burdens around.

When the day comes that my burnout is complete (and that day will come), when I want something much less stressful - then I'm going to apply at the Hallmark store. Or a bookstore. Or a cooking store. I don't really know what I'll do next or when exactly I'll do it, I just know that day is coming.

Where's the best place that a visitor to your hometown should visit? (Or another town if you don't want to give away where you live)

The Toledo Museum of Art is one of the top museums in the country. We have a glass exhibit that always impresses me.

The Toledo Zoo - great for families. Rarely overcrowded. Perfect size to see in one day - without feeling exhausted.

Dinner at the Docks - we have several extremely nice restaurants on the river downtown. Each of the restaurants has a different menu (i.e. Mexican, Italian, seafood) - everyone can find something they like. In nice weather you can sit outside for your meal - all of the restaurants have outdoor eating areas.

Now in my true hometown (I was raised in Findlay, Ohio - ~45 miles to the south) you should go to the Mazza exhibit. The University of Findlay has an art museum that specializes in the artwork from children's books. It's truly beautiful.

Is eating catfish a sin?

Have you ever participated in a moral or political protest, (if so tell us about it)?

Had you been born the opposite sex, what would you like
your name to have been?

Your adult child has been convicted of a felony and confides to you he/she is completely guilty of this and more. Your child expresses no regret or intention of repentance, do you stand in line at the local jail on visiting day, if so do you bring them items they ask for like candy, cigarettes?

so many questions:thumbsup:

1. I don't think so - why would it be?
2. not that I recall (my hubby actively protested the Viet Nam war - it ws before I knew him though. I tease him all the time that the FBI probably has a file on him)
3. I'd have chosen Paul after my beloved grandfather. As I recall - my parents had David as my boy's name.
4. I'd visit because they'd still be my child. I'd not support them in any way however - unrepentance is unrepentance. I wouldn't do anything to help out their continued sinful walk (I wouldn't pay lawyer bills either)

A FBI file on hubby--how clandestine..glad to see you back here old woman :)))))

Have you ever canned fresh veggies from your garden?

Have you ever witnessed divine healing after the “laying of hands”?

Do you prefer a Flat income Tax or National Sales Tax ?

Tomatoes - I made all kinds of tomato juice and sauce (different herbs and spices)

No

After having read The Fair Tax Book by Neal Boortz & John Linder I've decided that the national sales tax is most the most equitable. The older I get the more Libertarian I become;)

hope

What is your least favorite word?

??? not sure that I have one (actually I do, but it is a major rules violation - 'nuff said)

What sound do you most love?

I really like the sound of thunder - and the beauty of lightning that accompanies it

What sound do you most hate?

mosquito buzzing (ewwww)

What profession other than yours would you like to participate in?

I realize this sounds a little strange, but my dream job is to work in a Hallmark store (who would ever be mean in a Hallmark store). After that a bookstore (same reason - the only reason it isn't my number one choice is because I recognize that I'd be much more likely to spend my entire paycheck at a bookstore.)

What profession other than yours would you NOT like to participate in?

I don't think I'd be a very good teacher (and I have lots of family members who are excellent teachers - go figure)

Do you use swear words?

on occasion (esp. when I'm driving) but I try to watch my mouth very closely

If heaven exists, what do you expect St. Peter to say to you upon your arrival at the pearly gates?

I couldn’t care less what Peter says - I'm expect Jesus to say, “Well done my good and faithful servant, enter into your rest.”

Congratulation on becoming a Moderator.

Thanks so much - I'm still getting used to everything (and learning a lot). Sadly, it's limited my time in the forums a bit - but I think once I'm comfortable with everything I'll be back to posting as much as I ever did.
