Will you be watching the Super Bowl? If so, are you watching for the game or the commercials?

I watched the game and not the commercials, however my daughter told me that the Budweiser commercial with the baby Clydesdale pulling the Budweiser wagon was really touching.

Hi edie:wave: Are ya enjoying the Olympics? Rooting for anyone in particular? God bless..:D

US & Canadian hockey (both men's and women's)

Chad Hedrick in speed skating

Apollo Ohno in short track

I have a love/hate relationship with the luge & skeleton - I love how exciting and fast they are - but the knowledge of how dangerous they are puts me off a bit.

Anyhow - yes, I'm enjoying. I love winter sports - especially those related to ice.

Do you have any pets?

Sadly, no. My husband is extremely allergic to dogs, cats and such. My daughter, Hannah, had a guinea pig once - even that made him all congested.

My friends would tell you - if Joe should pre-decease me, I'll have a dog in the house before Joe's in the ground.;)

Oh my goodness. That has to be very difficult to be an animal lover and not be able to have any! God bless you!

How long have you known Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

What is the most money you ever spent on 1 evenings entertainment?

Probably ~$250 - although not intentionally.

When my son was playing hockey we spent a lot of time in Cleveland. Don Shula has a really nice sport's bar there that we always enjoy. Good food, reasonable prices and more t.v.'s than one knows what to do with - they have a "remote control" guy - my son wants that job;).

Anyhow, about 2 years ago my husband, daughter, my daughter's friend and I went to Detroit for a weekend. We saw a sign for Don Shula's Steakhouse so decided to eat there - we'd always loved his other place. The food was excellent - but, everything on the menu was ala-carte. By the time a salad, vegetable and potato was ordered each dinner was easily $50.00 (probably more) - that's not counting beverages and dessert. Oh - and we split the baked potato (big enough for 2) and the fresh vegetables - a family sized serving of asparagus. Seems to me that Hannah and Lindsay only ate salad and 1/2 a baked potato, that they totally skipped the entree. I've conveniently put the total cost out of my mind.

I think it's harder on Joe - he loves dogs too, but it is truly a major health issue for him. Anyhow. . . . .

I grew up churched and was pretty familiar with my Bible. However, it wasn't until my freshman year of college (October 1974) that God, in His grace and mercy, turned my heart and brought me to our Savior, Jesus the Christ in faith and repentance.

What do you do for a living?

I'm an R.N. - have worked in private pediatric practices (I'm on my 2nd office) for the past 27 years (18 years at the first, 9 at my current office). I'm also the manager of the current office.

Without question, I could have earned more money working at a hospital - but working in an office has allowed me much more flexibility with my schedule and therefore more time with my family. Also, I love the closeness with the patients - don't get that in the hospital anymore.

I love that. You sound like you've got a wonderful job.

The other day, when you (I hope it was you) asked me about Ebay, was that because you were thinking about using it? If so, how'd it go?

It was me - and I asked because I heard an ad on the radio stating that people earn their living via e-bay. While I've been known to shop on line (Amazon, L.L.Bean, ChristianBooks.com) and I enjoy surfing the web (although I really only go to a few sites), I think I've only been to e-bay once. It just makes no sense to me. If I want to buy something at an auction - I'll go to an auction. But to waste my time (sorry if I'm stepping on toes here) waiting over the course of days or weeks to see if I have the highest offer on something or if I've sold something - I just don't get it. So I was curious what other folks do. E-Bay must be profitable or it wouldn't continue - but with the exception of 1 or 2 people, I don't know anyone who actually buys and/or sells there.

I had a friend who was really into it. Once she found a bunch of vintage post cards at a thrift shop. And sold them for a major profit. She really enjoyed seeing the auction bids going up. I guess it just depends on the person doing it. For me, it's too complicated (as I'm sure I mentioned last time.) When I need something, I like to spend as little time in the process as possible. And I usually will just give my old stuff to friends and family, or to charity.

A living at it huh? I had no idea.

Hi edie:wave: I would like to ask you a hypothetical question if I may.. I know your grandkids are a little young now, but if in a few years your grandson was playing hockey and things got a little rough out on the ice, would you be tempted to go out and mediate or are you more apt to yell from the stands or what do you think you'd do in this situation.?

Funny you asked that question now - the team my son coaches had play-offs this weekend (won 2 prelim games, against their top 2 rivals, in overtime, lost the championship game in the last couple of minutes). I badly strained my vocal cords and have had a pretty hoarse voice the past couple of days.

The days you're describing will come sooner rather than later, Luka will start his skating lessons this spring. But to your question, in the U.S. kids can't check in hockey until they're older, so things won't get too bad for a while. However, I'll do with Luka and Logan what I do now - yell from the stands.

I do want to clarify though - I cheer for the players - I don't criticize them. I may be loud, but I'm not mean. I have, and will again, criticze the officials. My experience has been that poor calls/officiating are what allows the games to get out of hand and that's when injuries occur.

Thank you for a great answer to the question above! :) Praying that you will recover from your hoarsness.:prayer:

Is there a particular ministry that you are serving in or would like to? I think it is great that you support your sons' coaching efforts and cheer on the team btw.

I'm much better - thanks for the prayers. Of course, there's a hockey tournament in Cleveland this weekend so . . . .

I don't know if this truly counts as a ministry or not - but I'm planning to start a "dinner and a movie" night for the young adults at my church. Once or twice a month I'll have them over for a relaxing evening, good food and good company.

While I can't say as I spend an abundance of time with them - I feel a strong affinity for and stronger responsibility for the young women. I'm so grateful to God for the Christian role models He gave me. I can't begin to compare myself to some of the women who impacted my life, but I hope to pass on a little bit of what they did for me.

Thanks for asking a great question.
