CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

IJWTS-I'm kinda scared. They are officially (meaning it's all but done) proposing huge changes to the bus system here. Not only have they hiked fares big time, they are eliminating routes and making big changes to the routes they don't eliminate. The routes I depend on are getting changed in a way that is bad for me (and a lot of other people who depend on the buses too). This is on top of the routes they have already cut and changed. There is no way I can afford a car or the expenses that come with it. Please pray for me. If anyone can prevent some of these drastic service cuts, it's God.
ETA: All of these cuts are not because of the economy either. Public transit gets federal grant money every year and this year is getting more federal money from the stimulus package--in addition to the large increases in fares. Our mayor just hates public transit.

Well... yes, I know. Sounds horrible, doesn't it? Today, I just had some plans that were messed up, so I'm disappointed that way. I was supposed to get together with my dad, so we can peruse the art scene, but... things fell through.
We might see some next week though.

IJWTS: my decent day was crapped on by 4 hours of being in the catacombs (aka work). I'm really beginning to despise the people I work with. I don't know right now what's hotter...the weather outside or my temper! lol
