This is all good advice that I think I need to take heart. Jennie, I've always been the opposite of you. I've always assumed (and still do, to be honest) that most people don't like me for some reason or another. I think it's because I was never well liked as a child and was constantly told negative things about my character (and my physical appearance, but that's another issue for another day!). So I guess it still always surprises me when people say nice things to or about me, especially comments like, "Oh you're so nice/sweet/friendly/likable/lovely/etc." My reaction in my head is always "Really? How? Whyyy??" I don't believe it, probably because it contradicts what I was always told about myself (and therefore, accepted as truth). But this advice I think is good. And I think I need to listen to it, apply it, and take it to heart. So thanks for the excellent advice!

Because people are actually not used to genuine kindness like yours. And when you see it, you know its real. Usually such acts are seen right through. All of them.
